I love the spirit on the Blues board, "if only we turned up in the 1st quarter".

Saints basically iced the game from that point onwards.

Another year, another more likely situation they miss the 8, Cripps will eventually look for a new Club to play finals footy.

Kind of sad seeing how McGovern is compared to the performances and promise he showed at the Crows.

He was playing on the 4th or 5th best defender at times.

You could tell even with us he was only ever a "flash in the pan" type and his best games came against average opposition.

Showed glimpse against the 4th best tall defender after Walker, Lynch and Jenkins. He now take the 1st or 2nd best tall defender with MacKay playing or 2nd or 3rd best tall defender with both MacKay and Curnow playing.....this for a $800K player????

Obviously he was never worth that but typically you need to pay overs to attract a player to your club. Also footywire says his contract ends this year and who else were they going to pay? Probably worth the punt in the end, good to see it ended poorly though.

The annoying thing is all the media harping on Gov and Betts the last few weeks for pedestrian at best performances gives me a bit of schadenfreude to see them give the Blues 7 disposals and a goal combined in 3/4 of football.

What I like is that there's Blues posters that actually refer to their rebuild as the roadmap based upon a win here and there. So many ****wits among that supporter base.

Didn't watch the footy tonight but looking at the stats both McGovern and Betts had dirty nights?

Gov was on 3 touches and 7 yards till last 5 minutes. Betts involved a bit in first quarter. Nothing after.

Tex and Jack Riewoldt have had identical seasons to date.

Normally I like Jack, but his attitude on 360 when asked about hubs was appalling. No wonder they're having a shit year, he legit thinks he's more important than the game itself.

Remember one season they broke through in Round 8 or 9 for their first win and the club immediately announced that they didn't want a priority pick? That priority picks were associated with bottom dwellers and that's not how they wanted to be known. That they were winning now and on their way.

Within weeks they were begging the AFL for a priority pick.

That was several dire seasons and coaches ago

I really enjoyed following Carlton under Bolton, tonight felt like a throwback to good old days of the navy blues.
