They've upped the crowd noise in recent weeks.

Sounds horrible
Especially given there’s a crowd there.

The fake crowd noise (irrationally) shits me more than almost anything else the AFL has brought in over the last 10 years - and there been plenty to annoy me. I must admit, I also don’t mind hearing the on ground chatter of the players.

People know there’s not a crowd, surely we don’t need to pretend there’s one. The tight cutting of angles to try to ignore empty stands also detracts from the visual spectacle.

Agree they have got lazy.

Will see how they respond as may just need a wakeup call.

Need to also weigh up that til now they have being playing at home.

Cats had two players cooked at QT.

Lions should have taken their opportunities to bury the Cats, they had the game almost on toast.

Some campaigner in Victoria, won the entire $80M Powerball tonight.

Imagine if the ticket isnt registered, with almost everything closed, you would be so nervous as f**k.
Why they can still go out and sort it out. Not everything is closed.

I’m the opposite a bit of crowd noise has made it far better than the nothing we had in rd1.
I found i was distracted by the lack of noise where this takes that distraction away.

This is why the AFL is the most flawed competition in the world. Explain to me why the MCG is the "righful home" for the GF in a supposedly national competition???? How is it a "travesty" exactly that it is moved to a placed where you could, I dont know, get a crowd and generate income????????

"For the MCG to lose its annual showcase event seemed a travesty even a week ago and certainly a disastrous outcome for Victoria, along with the inevitable flow on to the spring racing carnival, but embracing the unexpected has become a temporary way of life.

And the AFL could not possibly fixture a grand final in its rightful home without an audience and the additional bells and whistles when the prospect of 80,000 supporters and a cheque with tens of millions of dollars and the PR triumph of a George Street parade sits over the border.

The Grand Final being at the MCG each year is one of the big injustices in football much like there being no Tasmania AFL team. I don't understand why the non Victorian clubs don't demand more change.

I highly doubt the AFL will play it outside Victoria. While their Covid numbers are bad they probably only have to show a slowing of the numbers in the next few weeks and they might be okay. The Vic Government will make exemptions if required.

Putting that to one side this theory that we cost ourselves the chance of hosting the Grand Final because we didn't accommodate the AFL early in the year is complete rubbish. The AFL never rewards South Australia with anything and it's hard to accuse the SA Government of making too many poor decisions during the pandemic.

Her unnecessary dig at the SA govt who have had the gall to not put the AFL interests above the people of their state is an indictment on her

Particularly seeing Victorians went up to NSW in droves and there are early signs of outbreaks there now.

Marshall should have negotiated - we will allow AFL Vic players into the State - no exemptions - if you sit down and talk about the GF moving on a rotating basis

I'd love to see all the grounds to tell the VFL to GAGF with the GF.

Tell them to play it at the MCG like they wanted to...in front of no crowd and lose heaps of revenue...oh, and make teams quarantine for 2 weeks beforehand
