Powell is surging up this list.

Has stated the season with 2 big games. Close to BOG today with 31 and a goal. Not many I’d take before him - he is just so clean.
Pick 10 in the 2020 draft wasn't he?

He is a Sturt player too.

He looked ok in the lead up to the draft

Treacy gets better every game. Chapman is just getting going again after missing a lot of footy but he's class.
Brandon Walker already one of the best stoppers of smalls in the game and good on the counter.
Even if O'Driscoll ends up a bust its pretty good business from Freo in a relatively weak pool.
Another good game by O’Driscoll. Treacy is a freak.

Yeah nah, I'd be shocked if any club is picking Holmes over Thilthorpe.
ON up to date form holistically. Im just looking at form to date

On a redraft of course everyone is taking Til because a mid running multi faceted forward is rare. Both Dekonings could be.

Coming from a fair way back but Perkins is coming with a hurry. Bedding down his spot as a fwd/mid and averaging 19.7 and almost a goal a game this year. Showing he’s going to be a very, very good player.

Nik Cox is showing signs of life after the unicorn spluttered early days

Oh, and the most talented of the three army picks came back after several weeks out in the VFL and had 25 and 10 marks.

As I said, coming from a long way back and the top 5 - 10 guys are exceptional players. Gulden, Holmes, McDonald, Jamara etc.
Swing and a miss with Perkins. Low effort - low impact player. I don’t think he is up to it.

Reid looks like a hit however.

You’re coming from a long way back.

Tell us more about how Perkins is coming - from a long way back?
you've gone over 12 months back Bilbo and aimed at a post that didn't suggest he was going to be a top pick from this draft, instead aimlessly pointed a gun and hoped to fire a shot at the target.

At time of writing he was a 19 and goal a game half forward

dont let actual facts show you up though, BigFooty would be a better place for having actual informative posting

2020 draft will go down as one of the drafts that's hard to be too critical of clubs that didn't quite nail their picks. Hubs, lockdown and no underage football form to choose from.

Settle - we all get it wrong from time to time.

Perkins is coming from a long way back if he was playing for Colac.

yep, we do

Pretty sure 3 time premiership player Dan Rioli is a better player than VFL tagger Will Phillips but you know, sometimes we over rate our own

Holmes is coming from along way back.
He did, played **** all junior footy.
And one of the few and far between successes of this weak draft.

Phillips
McDonald
Campbell
Grainger-Barrass
Pedlar
Cox
Reid
Perkins
Angwin
Macrae
Colman
Cook
Laurie
McLeod-Allison

All from the first round. 14 of 26 that either are still barely exposed, stagnated or appear to be a complete flop.
That should tell everyone all that needs be said about the difficulty of finding a quality player in this covid conflicted draft. And probably why my club decided to go left field and gamble on Holmes as a bolter. Not like the rest of the comp had a solid grasp on the talent either.

Yep - this draft was terrile. But the Cats killed it with the Holmes selection.

1. Errol Gulden
2. Riley Thilthorpe
3. Max Holmes
4. Josh Treacy
5. Jamarra Ugle-Hagan
6. Tom Powell
7. Heath Chapman
8. Jake Bowey
9. Jack Ginnivan
10. Logan McDonald
11. Zach Reid
12. Ollie Henry
13. Nathan O'Driscoll
14. Beau McCreery
15. Shannon Neale
16. Braeden Campbell
17. Lachie Jones
18. Elijah Hollands
19. Brandon Walker
20. Archie Perkins

Obviously COVID took a fair bite out of this draft, but yeah this stinks. The Top 4 are legit guns, and Jamarra will get there if he pulls his head in, but beyond that you're looking at OK role players and guys who have upside but have struggled with injuries and off-field issues. I guess there's a lot of good talls here though?

TBH I'm tempted to put Thilthorpe over Gulden due to Thilthorpe being a rarer piece but can't quite justify it on current form. Close though.

B: Jones - Reid - Walker
HB: Bowey - Cox - Chapman
C: Gulden - Powell - Hollands
HF: Henry - McDonald - McCreery
F: Ginnivan - Treacy - Ugle-Hagan
R: Thilthorpe - Holmes - O'Driscoll

Int: Phillips - Perkins - Campbell - Neale

Pretty much agree with you, the only one out of that 5 that could join them is Zach Reid if injuries stay away, what he produced this year had the promise of a top tier defender.

Yeah rated Reid's work this year. Sadly he's pretty much been a soft issue injury waiting to happen in previous years.
