I don't get how his sister had exactly the same accident (walking down incomplete set of steps at brother in law's house) and the guy didn't think to take care on those steps - unless both accidents happened at the same time, that's a pretty careless mistake for a person whose career depends heavily on keeping those leg and foot joints in good nick.
Have you never been to a house thats being self renovated? Every other bloody room is a deathtrap of missing fixtures and flooring.

Man I'd love to live in a house that self renovated, like a constant evolving sentient dwelling, just sit back and let it give itself a make over, wake up in a slightly different looking place every day.

As long as the house was able to be honest about what type of house it was and had good taste, otherwise it would be a monster.

Ah the joys of acid trips

Dylan Roberton expects to be available for St Kilda's opening match next year after he missed almost two full season's due to a heart condition

That's great news for Robbo….his family and the club.

I for one did not expect to see him in the RWB again.

Be very very interesting to see how he goes.

What do we think? Too harsh, too kind or somewhere in between?

I don't know about harsh but perhaps a lack of due credit, possibly because of space constraints.

Nothing about Parker, nothing about Hind, nothing about the emergence of Paton, nothing about Billings elevating his game, nothing about Ratten and Lade, nothing about Lethlean and Bassat, nothing about the reasons behind Steven's departure, as if we just left the back door open and let him walk out. Nothing about the acquisition of Gubby, though I guess there will be plenty said for him next year when evaluating the 2019 post season recruitment. Also it's technically correct to say Marshall wasn't considered best 22 in rd 1 but probably more accurate to say that none of the 4 ruckmen had obvious claim to first ruck, and as oldest (fit) ruckman, Lew Pierce got first shot.

Bottom line is we won 9 games so fair enough probably.

ST KILDA
PICKS: 51, 76, 82
KEY DEFENDERS: Josh Battle, Dougal Howard, Jake Carlisle, Nathan Brown, Logan Austin, Oscar Clavarino, Darragh Joyce, Jonathon Marsh

SMALL/MEDIUM DEFENDERS: Jarryn Geary, Shane Savage, Dylan Roberton, Callum Wilkie, Nick Coffield, Jimmy Webster, Ben Paton, Daniel McKenzie
MIDFIELDERS: Brad Hill, Jack Billings, Dan Hannebery, Sebastian Ross, Zak Jones, Hunter Clark, Luke Dunstan, Jack Steele, Jack Bytel, Ed Phillips, Nick Hind, Doulton Langlands
KEY FORWARDS: Max King, Tim Membrey
SMALL/MEDIUM FORWARDS: Jade Gresham, Jack Sinclair, Dan Butler, Jack Lonie, Ben Long, Dean Kent, Matt Parker, Jack Mayo
RUCKS: Rowan Marshall, Paddy Ryder, Ryan Abbott, Sam Alabakis

The raw Bigoa Nyuon is available to St Kilda as a Next Generation Academy player, which is a good start for the Saints as they need a few free hits after such an active time gathering players during the trade period. Last year’s No.4 pick Max King is another recruit too in practice, given injuries have delayed his much-anticipated debut, and they added Ryan Abbott from Geelong to give their ruck stocks depth as a delisted free agent. With their first pick at 57 it’s mere speculation as to who is available but they might take some risks on players with real upside. Blake Kuipers would be an interesting choice as the former volleyballer is an untapped athletic talent who could be worth a punt, while another Vic Country speculation pick could be the shy speedster from the Bendigo Pioneers, Brady Rowles, who has real pace. They could add another Butler to the list too if they opted for local lad Louis Butler who is around that range. He underwent a further medical check early in the month along with a dozen other draft picks but he knows how to win the ball and fits their mould of rebounding defenders.

My god, pretty small crowds back then. How the hell did we survive?

I've seen racist football clubs being punished by playing matches behind closed doors play in front of more people.

The 80's were extremely lean years austinnn.

You ask how did we survive....well....the answer is "just"

We were constantly talked about whenever relocations or merging with another club came up in the media...….it was extremely worrying.

That talk slowly disappeared in the late 80's...…...I think the only thing that saved us was the "powers to be" in the VFL/AFL knew we had a huge dormant supporter base.

I remember going to a silent auction in the social club after work one night in 1986.........it was part of a massive fund raiser for the club.

We did raise a lot of money that year....things were getting quite desperate.

I get a chill done the spine when thinking back to those days.

Those games at Waverley were mid-week night comp. Escort(?) Cup. Precursor to the preseason comp. Were shown live on TV and rarely drew more than a few thousand.

So proud of the club with this stuff. Embracing indigenous culture is so important. With Ben Long we have a unique opportunity to form a great bond with Tiwi. What an experience for our young group.
I think camps like this really help the youngsters. I can’t remember where I got this from but Bob Murphy had this really tough camp when he was in his second or third year, and it impacted his whole career.
As a side note did anyone see K Cornes take a dig at jack lukosius?

Now all we need is a slow service restaurant to sponsor us.
