We need to cut a few more and assemble a crack team of DFAs and retirees to forge the path forward.

IN:
H.Shaw - fills the need for a 30something, nepotistically appointment, larrakin declining halfback
B.Gibbs - can mentor our next batch of early picks being a former #1 selection himself
D.Lang - let's show him what he missed out on not choosing us first time around
B.Reid - played in a premiership 10 years ago
M.Hibberd - saves us valuable development $$. Former BFNAAK now choc full of * funded gear
S.McKernan - stop gap until Charlie Comben reaches puberty
C.McCarthy - the Ziebull was right. We get our next franchise forward on the cheap from someone else's hard rubbish
C.Wagner - former favourite son. Like Jade Rawlings, gives us a chance to get in invaluable dees IP for nothing.
S.Jacobs - recent grand final experience, trade Goldstein for a top 60 pick and get this guy to cover us until we can break into the top 15 teams
W.Buzza - stick him at the membership tent on family days and most kids will think Ben Brown never left

It still makes no sense why we are chasing Saad. We're supposedly going all in on the rebuild now and we want to give up a 1st for a 26 y/o? He's good but he ain't gonna win us a flag.

I agree - Trading Brown but bringing in Saad just makes no sense.

Only rationale I can think of is bringing him in via PSD.

Sideshow Mel has lasted at the highest level for thirty seasons without hunting young boys and framing Shaw for armed robbery. Not sure on his ability to traverse gardening implements though.

I know it's an option but very rare to see clubs take players to the PSD these days. Even when Carlton did it with Martin, it seemed like a last resort not plan A.
Carlton would probably be willing to offer a first so why wouldn't * just trade him to the blues?
