Without trying to be unkind as I'm genuinely curious, if they weren't local boys, would anyone here rate them? Or do we feel obligated to take them as it reflects badly if we pass and they turn out to be guns.

Just seen similar with the SA and WA clubs over the years where they 'reach' out of fear of media scrutiny and/or player retention. Wonder if we're in the same boat

Probably had mail that another club was interested. We had similar comments on Holmes last year where a lot of us where thinking we could get him 20 picks later, but it turned out both Melbourne and Richmond were waiting in the wings
