As most (some) of you know other Bigfooty boards have their own podcast, in the past we've had our very own special one here with varying levels of success.​

The mods have approved my attempt to again get one up and going for this board to talk all things Essendon both the team and the Bigfooty board with a sprinkling of * other clubs thrown on top.

So what am I looking for? I'm looking for volunteers!

Volunteers to be guests on the show and ideally a couple of volunteers to share the editing around so when Doss throws in his 50th "Yeah nah I guess" we can remove some of them. In a perfect world we need multiple volunteers so we're only asking you to appear/edit once every 3 or so weeks. Many hands make light work etc.

I'm also looking for ideas, segments, points of interest that people would be interested in listening to.

It was interesting your talk about the Perkins 50 boncer34 I read an opposition supporter somewhere saying the umpire had told us to clear the area, as in we were no longer allowed to stand the mark or something? So when Perkins went to stand the mark it was an automatic 50. Sounded like codswallop to me but I don't know.. is that a thing?

Sadly it is a thing, you only have x amount of time to get to the mark.

Much like the 50m from when someone ran behind the mark in the ANZAC game I suspect we'll never see it paid again. Goes totally against the spirit of the game.

Seriously? So what exactly are you supposed to do if no one is on the mark? Do you "man the boundary" of the protected zone instead? Just concede 10-15 metres?

That doesn't really pass the pub test, does it... or the 'reasonable person' test or whatever you want to call it.

Yeah you can't go within 5m of the mark, as a trade off you don't have to stand still.

Which Lore is why you hear the umpire yell outside 5. Its a signal you can move but also one that you can't go forwards.
