He also just got around $5M reasons to not give 2 hoots about anyone's reaction though. $6.7M AUDWowsers I thought people here are harsh on kids drafted - family member just showed me some reaction from OKC Thunder NBA fans to Josh Giddey being drafted to them. Makes AFL fans look all rational and calm ha ha

Joel Selwood but with an overhead marking game.
That is the lofty wrap on SA tyro Jason Horne, and it comes from someone who should know.
AFL veteran Troy Selwood, who of course is Joel’s brother, has given him that lofty wrap after watching his progress over the season.
Selwood has now moved to the Collingwood recruiting team after working at the Cats in recent years.
Horne could still go at No.1 in the draft but is certain to be in the top three alongside father-son prospects Sam Darcy and Nick Daicos.
Horne has played at senior level in the SANFL for some time now and has a brilliant mix of clearance power, elite kicking skills and the capacity to take big overhead marks.
The Pies could have had the chance to secure Horne and Daicos had they kept their own first-rounder and it fell to No.1 overall.
So, instead, the Hawks and North Melbourne will join GWS as contenders to secure Horne.
His capacity to play at SANFL League level gives clubs confidence he will be able to make an immediate impact.
The Roos sure aren’t tanking for Horne, and their history shows that it is the right approach.
They won their final game of 2017 against Brisbane, which meant the Lions finished last and the Roos finished 15th instead.
They took Luke Davies-Uniacke - the Lions took Cam Rayner - and although Rayner is a brilliant player, Davies-Uniacke is exploding this year.
Adelaide has given up hope of trading up for Horne given how highly he is rated by clubs with early picks.
Seems a pretty realistic view to me.Hahaha as if Reid/Hamish would ever have given that signal to a journo...
ahahahaha...that is total garbage. as if our recruiting team have ever considered trading anything up - they don't know how to at the pointy end of any draft (but in this case, I am not unhappy they are not looking to do it)

Port's riding for a fallI want to death ride someone. Who’s ripe for the taking?
Port's riding for a fall
And they'll value their own 1st rounder next year at 18

Have you seen either play?I wouldnt be allergic too consider splitting our 1st next year for the something that would get Draper or Erasmus this year and have a 1st next year to trade someone in
Nice thinking but I feel Erasmus will go too early for us to pull it off. Quite some other club boards mention him.I wouldnt be allergic too consider splitting our 1st next year for the something that would get Draper or Erasmus this year and have a 1st next year to trade someone in
That's an interesting idea.If Erasmus keeps rocketing up draft boards I wonder if Freo get desperate and would do their first + Carltons first (Cerra trade) for our first and a second? Would have to consider that given it’ll likely be 2 top 10 picks.
Or just take him ourselves? Looks a jet.
Draper not ErasmasHave you seen either play?
I don't think Carlton hand over their 1st unless they move up a few more spotsIf Erasmus keeps rocketing up draft boards I wonder if Freo get desperate and would do their first + Carltons first (Cerra trade) for our first and a second? This is so stupidThe reason people and saying split and downgrade, is because we don't trust recruiting to pick and elite star at 3.
People are so scared of being in the Tambling Franklin situation that they'd rather downgrade so the pressure is off.
If you have a top 5 pick you expect a star and if you don't get one, you fall massive behind the club who did get it right at the pointy end
What a load of boloney, if we don't rate the player available at our 1st pick as being much better than those available after him it's good business if it means you can land a pick inside pick 10 still and add another later 1st round pick. The reason people and saying split and downgrade, is because we don't trust recruiting to pick and elite star at 3.

Dangerfield is/was an inside mid with speed, contested footy is his one wood.Need to draft an outside mid with speed. Just need to find another Dangerfield.
