No we don't.The reason people and saying split and downgrade, is because we don't trust recruiting to pick and elite star at 3.
People are so scared of being in the Tambling Franklin situation that they'd rather downgrade so the pressure is off.
If you have a top 5 pick you expect a star and if you don't get one, you fall massive behind the club who did get it right at the pointy end
I have faith in our recruiting staff.
Is this sarcasm?No we don't.
I have faith in our recruiting staff. It's not like they're constantly reaching to pick players outside of their draft range and keep being proven wrong.
You look to split the pick because there ISN'T s standout top six or seven. There's three, and then there's a band of maybe ten players.

If we could swap 3 for 2 in the top 10 I'd do it.This is exactly right
I wonder if it's in part one of the reasons we (the club) have been happy to trade down in the past?
Though we nailed the Thilthorpe pick last year so that's perhaps unfair.
Depends where they are.If we could swap 3 for 2 in the top 10 I'd do it.
True True… who do you see the best outside mids?Dangerfield is/was an inside mid with speed, contested footy is his one wood.
Why the excitement to finish wooden spooners!!???. We are going to get a very good player at pick 2 or 3 or 4. As others have mentioned once the nationals take place we will get a good feel for who we can takeThankyou Collingwood. That win against Hawthorn may end being very very costly. Has cost us pick 2 and possibly pick 1. Let's hope the Hawks get up against Collingwood and beat Richmond. Looks like we are ending up with pick 3.

Carlton says hiThe whole "wooden spoon" thing lasts for about 10 minutes when the season ends.
I couldn't even tell you who finished last 2 seasons ago. The reward of first pick is big.
AgreeCarlton says hi
I think we will be one silly win against Hawks last week from getting pick 1 and a Jason Horne. Some may say finishing last is not good for Culture but getting elite talent into the club is what builds culture .Agree
It last 10 minutes externally, whereas Carlton are proof it's hard to turn around a losing culture

For Cerra? Definitely cost a decent 1st if they want him.I don't think Carlton hand over their 1st unless they move up a few more spots
Can you say with 100% certainty the player we pick at pick 3 or 4 won't be elite?I think we will be one silly win against Hawks last week from getting pick 1 and a Jason Horne. Some may say finishing last is not good for Culture but getting elite talent into the club is what will builds culture .
He won't be from SA.Can you say with 100% certainty the player we pick at pick 3 or 4 won't be elite?
He won't be from SA.
What’s the go with Roberts’ injury? If the Nationals go ahead later in the year will he be good to play?
Matt would have returned to playing this week but for the C19 drama. He’ll be back as soon as games resumeWhat’s the go with Roberts’ injury? If the Nationals go ahead later in the year will he be good to play?
Luko is a starTop 5 picks from SA.. Luko, Rankine, Stephens… massively over-rated.
Been thinking that too. Think they'll definitely be motivated to win last game in Rd 23 v Tigers. Hopefully Tigers are out of finals race by then.Hoping the Hawks will want to send clarko off in the right style with wins against Collingwood and Richmond. I think quite a few of them weren't happy with clarko being fired. Should be a interesting selection with Mitchell wanting to pick the worst team possible and clarko wanting to spoil their plans.
If the top 10 is very even after the top 3, then I don't think any other club would be willing to give up 2 x top 10 picks for 1 top 10.If we could swap 3 for 2 in the top 10 I'd do it.
