If we had Horne we would start to see a midfield that could contend:

Horne, Schoenberg, Pedlar, Berry, Laird

Horne will be an awesome midfielder after he's spent 2 years at half forward watching Crouch, Sloane, Keays and Laird do their thing. You can't buy thst kind of training.

I have to be honest. I agree.

On the flip side, if we're EVER going to do it, last season and this is the time.

So how many wins next year do you think finishing 17th instead of 18th this year will cost us? Is it every player that doesn't develop as well or just some? Do the senior players give up that little bit faster or does it just impact kids? When does it hit them, this chasm between 17th and 18th? Is it after the final siren of round 23 or do they sit around watching the results and live ladder? Do they stew on it over the off-season and instead if igniting a fire in the belly, it just burns out their competitive edge. Explain how it negatively impacts player's future performances.

No chance. Will be north at pick 1 or possibly us. Crows pick 2. Hawks picks 3. GC pick 4. We are a very good chance for pick 1 if North try against Richmond and us. Hawks should beat Collingwood and Richmond to send Clarko off on a good note. Plus Clarko would like to stick it to Mitchell.

Upon reflection gc may tank hard so you may be onto something.

GC won't tank, Dew is coaching fir his job. He needs it turned around over the next 3 games or he's getting a 6 month payout.

I think I'm hoping for Collingwood to win a couple of games, and GWS to trade 7 and 9 for our pick 2.

Pick 2 becomes pick 4, and looking at Ed Pascoe's current ratings, I think you could throw a blanket over that first dozen. I'd rather two bites. Hell, even Rachele would be a very good get.

This is why no club this year would do a 7 & 9 for a pick 2 ......apart from Horne, the rest of the top 10 are pretty even

So if they aren't tanking...they are just really bad?

Who'd have thought a team that loses most of their games in the first 2/3s of the year would continue to lose in the last third? Makes no sense to me, surely law of averages should result in the early winners to start losing and vice versa. But prior to last 2 games they've been ok. Certainly ok enough to compete against Carlton and Essendon if they play like they did at times during the last month or so.

GC have suffered from no Ruckman .....but they're not as bad as last week's game

Ben King hasn't developed as quickly as his brother ....that said GC are playing him FWD for needs & generally lack good KPP

If every club had 7 & 9 you might hit one that sees another player in Horne league and gap to the rest who might do the trade. But the likelihood of the one club with those picks seeing it that way is pretty slim.

Yep .....I'd certainly prefer 7 & 9 this year to #3

Good chance we get #2 if HAW beat COLL this week .......we know NORTH need a KPP, which makes last years Draft by North so strange, when so many quality KPP were available

But there's simply no KPP at the pointy end ATS

We dont know until well after the draft year how good the players become BUT in 2 of the last 3 years we have (will have) a top 4 pick..excluding last years pick 1..where it would have been more beneficial it seems to have had our 2018 draft hand of multiple mid/lower 1sts rather than a top 5 pick. And that 2018 we should have engineered the top 5/6 pick as it was far better than the later 1sts. We have been genuinely unlucky in 3 of the last 4 years in terms of where the quality of the drafts was in relation to our 1st round picks as it so far seems to have worked against us excluding the thilthorpe pick 2.

Matty Roberts draft stock bounces around so violently I think its given me whiplash!
It’s interesting his draft year is tracking similar to Luke Pedlar last year, maybe a bit more exposed than Luke. But similar with some good U18 footy to start, some injury and some good school footy. Then ending up around the 10-15.

Matt gets the boots back on this week end so will be interesting how the last part of season plays out. Lost of mystery over this draft that will hopefully be sorted out with a champs

The same Ben King who has 43 goals for the season?

You're a tough judge lol.

I want to know if he *plays* as slow as his testing numbers suggest

yep..

give me 2 of those lads in the 7-15 range rather than the one player at pick 2..

Goater and Roberts
or
hobbs and Draper
or
erasmus and Chesser

the combos are endless.. and probably way better than just grabbing Finn Callaghan.

geez.. Roberts injury woes have made him slide.. thats a couple of draft ratings lists he’s now fallen away in..
I think Roberts at 4 and Draper at 23 is possible

Given Draper injury and rises by others at champs I can see it happening

Hypothetically...
...If we were desperate to do a pick swap (say pick 2 and a player for pick 1), which of our KPP are OFF the table?
