I reckon we should reward someone from Northern. Keep promoting from within and make our 2s a place good footballers want to play.

NepotismBSOS and Finbar selections in the 2018 ND were baffling at the time and even more so in hindsight
You mean the speculative picks at 66 & 70 amongst other luninaries such as Robbie Young, Jake Tarca, Joel Croker, Caleb Graham, Brayden Ham, Riley Grundy, Oscar Brownless, Toby Bedford, Boyd Woodcock, Atu Bosenavulagi and Will Hayes. Those were the players taken immediately after Finbar. Not too many household names there.Nepotism
Not sure Northern is from within anymore, but I get the gist of what you're saying. Although our most recent attempt at this (O'Shea) didn't pan out too well.I reckon we should reward someone from Northern. Keep promoting from within and make our 2s a place good footballers want to play.

What makes you think he is dogs boundFisher McEasy from the Crows. Wouldn't give up our first pick for him though, Seems Bulldogs bound though
Someone who has elevated during the first half of the season. Surely there will be plenty of prospects around with so many missing the opportunity to shine last season. List needs are a priority if they are an even bunch, however if real quality is on show, and obtainable, you grab it.So with Marchbank ACL confirmed. That leaves a spot open for the mid season draft. What position do we think we should target? A key defender, a ruck or a key forward?
Zavier Maher? signed to our ressies teamAny info on the kid (midfielder) we passed on to take Oscar?
He was training with us over summer.
Zavier Maher? signed to our ressies team
There was some talk that he had been offered a spot, but did it actually happen?
Can't find confirmation of that anywhere.
He's listed in the development section for us here so i assume it did
in that case just trust me on this one....Paywall.![]()

I keep referring to the 2s as Northern. My mistake. Recruit from our own reserves!
Thanks. I have no idea what the difference is between the primary and development lists. Does it say anything about that in the article?
Is OOC Sam Flanders worth us chasing for ?
I take the claim of nepotism to mean that SOS picked his son (although he excused himself from all family discussions) and Finbar deliberately above others with better credentials. Which of the list that were taken after these picks makes that case?A few of them got games though
Any of those would have been a better pick than Finbar. So if BSOS was an acceptable pick but the Finbar pick was the one that concerned you then it is clearly not nepotism, just a bad speculative pick?Any of those would have been a better pick than Finbar.
At least BSOS had AFL traits. Why pick his mate too?
