Speaking of lost management, has anyone else noticed the VFL form of Riccardi from the giants? Not getting at game at GWS despite losing Cameron and Hogan being out injured, he has been dominating, even having a day out in defence, 8 goals and 24 disposals in Saturday’s game.

He would be a great target for us, in either attack or defence, add Bruhn to the list, currently in the reserves, playing very well, only in his first year but, I’ve never seen a player so openly filthy after being picked up by a club, I don’t care what he said afterwards, the face doesn’t lie.

Don't underestimate the power of cultural osmosis. Certain Carlton identities from the past (one at least, who shall remain nameless) were like the sporting equivalents of 'Orange Man bad'. That animosity just resurfaces from time to time, with added vigor, every time something bad happens to the club. We deserve at least some bad press but it should have a different tone than it does.
what sort of tone do you think, trop?

Riccardi = yes.
Bruhn = no (2yr contract) and hasn’t done much when promoted. Don’t take for petulance when drafted, if indeed it was as it seemed with the expression.

Admittedly the club set us up for this... "we'll be playing finals this year"... when a majority of the supporters knew that wasn't going to happen. We would finish mid table, fighting for 8th on the table, I think was the concensus at the start of the year. We current;y sit in 13th, 5 spots off the bottom with some easier games ahead of us to pick up a few more wins. Lets see how we go now that Barker is gone and there is one coach in the midfield controlling things.
Easier games? We are the easier games.

Wing is a major deficiency with us...

I'd like to see Docherty/ Martin/ Plowman & Ramsey, get a run on both wings..

We may start to get some defence and foot skills through our midfield...

Yeah T . Two way mongrels on the wings. Jigsaw is being put together still. Good news re H .

To use the most recent one where the two idiot presenters for AFL360 over on Foxsports basically called for Plowman to be suspended using one of your favourite words, egregious, to describe a football marking contest between Plowman and O'Meara. After these two had started their whinging about it, Christian trots out and slaps Plow with a 2 week suspension. In the time since... there hare been a severe lack of the use of egregious when talking about a number of similar incidents, including one by serial head shot offender, Lance Franklin, where he takes out Nick Newman who is bent over trying to retreive the ball when Buddy just goes slamming into him.

Do we hear anything out of those two doyons of trash journalism? How about Hunter Clarks broken jaw... or Hayward getting hit by O'Meara? Is there an outbreak of "egregious" describing these other incidents? The way those two went on about it... you'd think that Plowman had ripped off his head to use as a bowling ball while spreading O'Meara's entrails from one end of the ground to the other.

We can also go back to the Ed Curnow decision... made for the AFL by these two numpties once more. The one in that instance who was crying the most was Whateley... mainly because Hawkins from his beloved Geebungs had also been pinged for touching the umpire in round 7, and then May the following week was pinged and fined for it... but then came the Curnow brothers. Whateley wanted them hung drawn and quartered. Many Egregious were slaughtered on his alter to the football gods for the Curnow brothers temerity of getting off at the tribunal. He sooked, he cried and the AFL came out and appealed against the decisions. One was upheld and Charlie was free to play, and Ed was banned for a week and Whateley then shut the fu** up about it.

Caro has a history of taking half truthes and pushing them out as whole fact... and a lot of the time she was aiming them at us. Any chance she had to bad mouth the club, she took it. Her lapdog Hutchie... followed in her footsteps and spread the love.

While I wish the club wouldn't give them any ammo... the return fire is usually greater than the info the club puts out. Even when we win matches, the commentators are going on about the opposition.

Now... I've answered your question...

*Mod edit: Play nice thanks

Robbo’s been consistent about the need to get rid of high contact from bumps and l agree with him. I also think plowman needed to be suspended although the incident was a tricky one.

Carro is highly opinionated and black and white about nearly every issue. She sticks the boots into everyone because of her simplistic take on most matters. Carlton is not unique.

Carlton might be important to you but to many others we are not. Certainly not important enough for some sort of conspiracy.

I reckon they got some good selections in last year.

They will probably be in deficit with Daicos and GWS currently has their 1st pick, pick#3.

Serious post - for once.

We as a team are too Cripps-centric and we often turn the ball over as a result. Cripps looms very very large in our game play. We need to share the load.

I don’t like The Velvet Sledgehammer that is Matthew Lloyd, but I tend to agree with him that we shouldnt sign up Crippa to a long term exxy deal. I don’t think he’s the messiah anymore, rather an excellent trade chip right now, which will only further diminish with time. Walsh, McKay, Weitering and hopefully Curnow are our core. We need to add to that core moving forward. We don’t absolutely NEED Cripps.

Word is we are heavily after Cerra - nice. FRE also have multiple other young Vic players eg Young, Serong and Brayshaw. We, have Fisher and SPS from WA also. NB - I personally love SPS and feel he is grossly misused. Should be played further up the ground. Fish is a Best 22 fringe player IMHUO, who is easily replaced by Fog or Owies.

My point - I would love the club to at least explore a significant (read seismic) trade for Cripps. Getting other quality kids in that core age creates further depth and competition but also spreads the load more.

Stop trading for fringe players. Throw a big chip on the table and ask for a big chip back. Take a chance - gamble. The time is right.

I would not blink at Cripps and Fisher FOR Cerra, Young and Brayshaw.

No chance of happening

Riccardi certainly is an interesting prospect..
But in perspective, the 8 goal haul was against Aspley, who are behind Northern Bullants on the ladder...
His more impressive game was against Southport where he had 40 possessions and 19 marks playing in defence...

Don't think he can Ruck though, so purely KPP depth..

Why depth?

He would be a good replacement for Jones, but I doubt he’d go somewhere to play 2s, watching him play a few times last year, he has X factor, quite surprised he has fallen away this year.

injuries happen. the players choose to play a contact sport and so you know injuries are always apart of it. The main reason that concussion is high around the league is the coaches fault, they want 12 players around the ball, so there will always be more contact to the head in packs

CARLTON forward Harry McKay has committed his future to the Navy Blue, signing a two-year contract extension with the Club.

The new deal will see the Coleman Medal leader continue to spearhead the Blues’ attack until at least the end of 2023.

Who said he has fallen away, sometimes a team goes in a different direction. That isn't the players fault
