I’d do the deal if it were Cerra plus Freo’s future 3rd for Pick 6 and Fisher.
My opinion is anyone suggesting Fisher is worth more than a 3rd rounder is unrealistic.
Same goes for Samo who we will do well to get Pick 29 off West Coast in exchange for.
Fisher is worth more than a 3rd because he is young and contracted, otherwise there is no reason to consider it. With a new coach inbound he has the potential to get back to the player he was projected to be several years ago. Like a few of our younger players he has stagnated under Teague but go back to 2019 and he was one of the comps most exciting young prospects - averaged close to 20 disposals as a 19y/o and was an excitement machine. Our young talent need the opportunity to reset under a new coaching setup, they all won't make it but Fish has a real point of difference and if played to his strengths can be a player in the right setup.

Appreciate your genuine response.
Honestly I think Freo expecting 2 firsts is overs and Carl expecting pick 6 (8) is unders.
My gut feel is it will land at 6 plus future 2nd with maybe some steak knives coming back - that was my reason for the Fisher question ( provides an option if Carl don't want to lose a F2 ). Hopefully the deal just lands and everyone moves on - Cerra will be a great get for Blues.

That’s fine you are entitled to your opinion. All I see is a lightweight midfielder (76kg after 5 years on the list) with limited stamina, skills and football nous or goal sense. His only great skill is his speed which he may lose if he sustains further leg injuries.
In my view we have seen the best of Zac Fisher and it’s quite conceivable that he’ll end up a Delisted Free Agent when his current contract expires.

When the new coach comes in and has a go with our list for a year, then we can say we've seen the best or worst of x player.

Any player out of contract and wanting to move back to home state, you're never going to get a 1st and future 2nd. Delusional.

It’s a bit hard to follow your post, so I’ve assumed the first sentence is in reference to Fisher and the second applies to Cerra?
Either way you are entitled to your opinion as am I which is that I’d be more than happy to throw in Fisher to get a deal done for Cerra.

6 and Fisher for Cerra and a future 2nd.

I know SOS is paid to fill dead air but if he genuinely thinks that a hard running, defensively orientated midfielder is not the type of player we need, then I don’t want him
anywhere near the club in any capacity again.

That's Ed role currently and a role perhaps both Setterfield & Kennedy could fulfill.

well firstly - I’d argue that we have room for mote than one of those types. Hewett isn’t a tagger.

secondly, Ed’s not long for this world and Setterfield hasn’t shown any signs of developing into the player Hewett is. Kennedy, maybe. But we can have multiple.

most importantly, our midfield is SHALLOW. It could be deep if a few of the kids kick in but that’s far from certain. Hewett is immediately our third best mid unless Cerra arrives.

Hope you’re aren’t anywhere near our trading negotiations but then again it’s probably what our club will fall over themselves to do.

I think SOS is having a go at the failed development of our players.

Stocker would also be capable of playing this role and won't realise his potential unless he is played in the midfield, his tank is not quite there yet but will be.

It’s just my view based on what I’ve seen which I think is supported by fact, for example Samo and Fisher have finished top 10 in our B&F once each in 5 years. During that time we have won less than 30% of the games we have played and had a highest finish of 11th. Hardly exciting returns.
You clearly don’t agree with it which you are entitled to do.

Hewett can (and has) played as a tagger
