They've gone far too early on that IMO. Tennis crowds have been in around around 20K daily which is easy enough to control.
I agree that it's too early. And I know consistency is not the hallmark of this mob, but if cutting the Anzac Day parade is the right move, how can you justify a crowd at an Anzac Day game?

Do you want yet another club being propped up by the AFL ?

Vic clubs will always spend more than they earn .... it’s why the National Comp was started, and they always work on future earnings

People say we should fold Gold Coast because of the market and historical performance of other sports ..... why would you then seek to add another “social welfare” club ??

Because Tasmania actually has a passion for football.
QLD barely knows what the sport is.

I do wonder how that works, seeing there would be some form of compensation for a player going from the 2nd leagues to an AFL list.

Do Norwood get that despite Callow never pulling the jumper on in an official match of any kind just because Jackson decided to jump abroad a month ago, or does Callow's junior club receive it?
I’m assuming you sign a contract to play for Norwood to. So surely that needs to be negotiated. Now Norwood are without that big forward target. How do they replace him at short notice.

cmon..its Norwood. The slary cap for them is a loose guide. They will recruit someone else

18 clubs for the next 10 years at least .... talent is still too thin coming thru juniors

Tassie is the new retiree place to go ....
If we can’t have 500 afl standard players in a country of 26 odd million and produce 80-100 each year something is wrong.

Are you for real? EVERY one of those things listed is, by itself, utterly disgusting.
The accumulation is horrendous. Sam Newman is one of the worst people around. Utter garbage.
It’s just normal blokey pub humour. IMHO.
I generally wouldn’t say this kind of stuff but I have friends and acquaintances that do occasionally. I laugh with them and wouldn’t call it out because everyone is free to say as they like in my opinion. I like free speech, it gets it out there which is probably healthy as is swearing 🤬.
Doing it on tv is problematic though because of all the softies and virtue signallers piling in with their silly outrage.

he has the right to say whatever he wants - but that means others have the right to call him out as a ****wit

it's funny how 'free speech warriors' seem to not like the 2nd part

I think that’s fine to. But it does put you into that place of telling someone else what to do. Usually accompanied with “you should be stopped from saying that”. Which is kind of a catch 22. Followed by free speech it ok as long as you don’t say anything I disagree with.

I like the part where I didn't say anything about him being stopped from saying anything

It was normal blokey pub humour in the 70's and 80's sure. Maybe even the 90's.
Now? Not one of my friends speaks like this. None.

To then do that on TV in front of a National audience is actually awful. It's not about people being 'soft' or 'virtue signallers' as you call it. It's about being a decent person.

Would seem not the case , given current participation levels and high profile clubs struggling for numbers / viability

The same way the Panthers likely have to replace Paul Hunter.

And I'll give you a tip Hunter is more pivotal to the Panthers 2021 SANFL Premiership campaign than Callow is for Norwood.

I only get Norwood stuff in my Facebook feed but yeah same thing. It’s a bit of a shit sandwich for the SANFL etc.
I don’t like it.
There should be a hefty financial penalty paid to the club being poached. Equal to the contracted players salary.

Good luck having a Tassie Team financially viable ......it's Romantic, but unworkable
Gold Coast is in the league, just sayin'

Biden has shown signs of serious cognitive decline,

So you're saying that one of the biggest political parties in the world knowing nominated Biden at the DNC even though he supposedly has dementia?

I remember seeing this quote from you a couple of weeks ago and it seems a very apt response

maybe steady on with the laughable rumours

I don't think there's any real market expansion for the AFL in moving to Tasmania. They get serviced by the Victorian teams in terms of live games, those teams get some cash for it, it works for the AFL and the club's who get to take advantage of Tasmania wanting to see live football.

The membership and corporate possibilities, as well as viewership numbers on TV would probably already be fulfilled with the current setup, so there's probably no desire for the AFL to change anything.
