Our ruck stocks are terrifying. God forbid if Oscar is injured we will have to change things up a bit. But if everything is a bit tight this year, I doubt any relief will be forthcoming.

I have only taken a really superficial view here, but Mason Cox if cheap could be an option. Can ruck and clunk a mark forward. Would give some proper respite for our big O.
When looking at what we need I imagine what our list looks like if our best player in that group gets injured. We were able to cover for Hipwood (dan going down really stretched us). Gardiner, Paine and Adams missed many weeks but we covered for them. Neale missed many game but we won most (all?).

If Big O gets hurt what are we going to do?

I read article from July 2021 indicating we were interested in Briggs but not for one of our first rounders. Wonder if our future first for Briggs plus some future change might be on the cards.
I don't understand why multiple Lions supporters are giving our 2022 first round pick the value of a packet of chips.

Out of interest, has any club gotten good value out of trading out their first round pick in a year they have a highly rated F/S or NGA player (excluding trying to get a pick in before a bid comes)? It feels like they end up just trading it away for more points in the end.

Ashcroft in the bag devalues the pick but we won't give it away for nothing.

If Ashcroft is guaranteed we move it on to get a free hit at something. If you can get in a player now that fills a hole for next year plus say a second round future pick is that not something of value? You are not giving up a straight first round pick. Is Briggs that player - I would say yes but some say no and they may well be right. Plus he may not want to come or GWS may not let him go, so probably unlikely to happen in any case.

I am basing it off a pick between 14 - 18 - which i think is fair. If the consensus is we are going to bottom out then fair enough, keep it for next year. But there is no guarantee of a good deal next year.

Does anybody think we are going to fall out of the eight?

Narkle or Hopper please

Hopper re-signed already. I'd rather Dev/Prior develop than get more from outside.

We need a mature ruck though if Archie goes.

Ok, didn’t realise Hopper had re-signed. Feel we need some power in our midfield.

Yes, we certainly need ruck coverage.

I'd be shocked if we fell out of the 8. I also rate Briggs. Has had experience playing KPD, KPF and ruck. Has a lot of mongrel about him too which I like. Personally (no expert opinion here) I value Briggs as a late second to third round pick. dlanod would have a much better idea than me, but if we have the spots available, I'd love to have him at the Lions.

I have about the same opinion on Briggs, but over a draftee he is ready now, and proving he is good enough at this level. I would happily use Melbourne's first on him.

I have seen very little of him since drafted but would Charlie Constable 192cm, 86kg and OOC be an option as another big bodied mid, can't get a crack at the Cats so shouldn't cost too much.

Abysmal once the ball clears from the contest. Pass

Fair enough, if so that would be a big pass from me as well, I heard a pundit (IIRC J.Ralph) say he was way too good for the VFL and is looking to move on for opportunities.

I'd agree he's too good for the VFL but at the same time there are obvious and glaring deficiencies holding him back from having a significant impact at AFL level footy.

Could you lot please stop shouting me down.
