Have had Will Brodie all pre-season…nothing more certain than me swapping him to cogs before round 1…cogs will end up playing forward pocket and will average 70.. Brodie will average 90…bookmark this

Cogs is a lock now isn't he?
Brodie is a good pick but still not a best 22 lock every week

I'm reluctant to leave Preuss out. If he plays, he'll score well and make plenty of money. Don't want to miss that.

At the same time I'm reluctant to start him on field, in case he gets injured early. Unless you have money left over you'll be in a world of trouble.

So I'm going Gawn - Grundy - Preuss. That's a lot of money tied up, but it looks good when I look at my team.

I think a fair hybrid strategy will be best but if i had to pick MPM or GnR id go with MPM given the extra trades. Could be wrong though, ill watch this weekends games closely and see if there are enough standout rookies to feel confident fielding them over a speculative mid-pricer. Extra trades aside, i still think there are more legitimate mid-priced options than last season, but i could be looking through rose coloured glasses. Time will tell
This week has just shown us value, value and more value.
Is it too ridiculous to have a midfield with just two premiums (Steele & Macrae) followed by 4 mid priced (Crouch, Lipinski. Caldwell & Rowell) and finished with two rooks (Daicos & Ward).
I'm a little concerned with Milera having not played any games.

Brodie, Rachele & Ralphsmith made their way into my team at F5-7. Wondering whether I go Preuss with English forward or keep the 3 I just mentioned. Duncan, Dunkley, Butters & Cogs are my other forwards.

Leaning towards avoiding Preuss
I know there appears to be a lack of options on the cheap end this year, and there is merit in paying a premium bench cover, but I still see Ralphsmith as a trap.

The other Richmond halfbacks options all scored decent, Short, Rioli, Broad, Ralphsmith. There will need to be room made for Vlaustins return, and I see him as the likely candidate even if he named round 1.

Is Duncan worth it given the calf injury he's got at the moment which I believe cost him games last year?

Really annoying Preuss missing round one as it makes picking him a little harder - still interested myself.

Im not sure to be honest. I think ill pick him because i have the cash to spare and im happy with the rest of my team. That said, he is a risk but with extra trades i am happier to take risks on players that might not be the most durable.

I'm holding Preuss. His game this weekend proved it would be silly not to have him.
Some may say "I'll bring him back in for round 2. We have more trades now." People with that belief will run out of trades just as quickly as they have in previous years. I'm hoping Hayes gets a gig for round 1 which will reduce the damage to some degree.

Cash to spare is a good problem to have, squeezing it everywhere to try get a few more players of interest in at the moment.

Pretty much thinking the same thing however if GWS have a good win round 1, they might decide to back the team in again which would be a real pita.

I don't think it happens, GWS looked to bring Mumford in as much as they could last week at the expense of Flynn, either dropping him or playing him as a forward which makes me think they don't have a great deal of faith in him as a ruck. Maybe he just didn't have the legs for it, but that's how I'm justifying the Preuss pick to myself at the moment.

I think your safe on two fronts.
The Swans will exact revenge on GWS for that 1 point loss last year first of all.
Secondly, Preuss was extremely impressive last week against the supposed best ruck in the league.
He is sure to come back in round 2 and as much as my DT team will be at a disadvantage by him not playing, as a Swans fan, I'm quite pleased.

Like every other season I’ve gone weak in the backline when I know it punishes me every year…mids, rucks and forwards look decent on paper but who know…can touk go back to back?? Will Cripps actually decide to kick the ball and tackle this season?? rookies I have no idea, have not watched one full pre season game…will all be chosen once final teams are announced..

Think I’m reasonably happy with my structure at the moment. I’ve got 380K to pick a final upgrade. My biggest concern is having JHF at M6, using all that on him seen a waste because it’s at an awkward price point, miss out on Cripps /Serong. Could go to Caldwell and use the cash to get some premium rookies on the bench with better JS.

There is always the toss of the coin decision everyone gets hung up on, like I’m leaning towards trading Steele to Touk to be that little bit more unique.

JHF at mid 6 is fine I think. I'm all for getting rookies with better JS. I think with more trades and trade boost, it can lend itself to having some cash in the bank as you can see use the boost after 2 rounds and have more options.

As for toss of the coin decisions, I try to look at fixture but that can backfire too. If gut feel can separate them then I'd follow that.

JHF at M6?? Who's M7 & 8?
I have JHF at M9 which is somewhat of a waste having all that cash sitting on the bench. If some cheaper cash cows present themselves prior to North's game I will go with them. I'm not sure JHF is value at his price as I don't see him averaging much more than 70.
