I suspect our guys would take him if he fell to us. Then try and buy back in to get Cmac.

Buslinger could well go to Geelong and if he does , it will give us a choice of one of the players that the pundits rated higher.
The West has produced a few good tall's lately - Taylor GWS , Naughton Dogs , Bazzo WCE , Grainger-Barras Hawks , Chapman Freo

FYI we would be crazy to pass up buzzlinger all the talk in WA for the past couple of seasons is Buzzlinger.

At this stage is already miles ahead of Naughton, Jackson and Cripps

Recruiters should have him higher especially when he chased down Davey at the champs on the wing and 22 touches 8 marks 93% disposal efficiency missed a handball with a dodgy shoulder is already tracking higher than Lever,May,Gibcus de konning.

Eyebrows were raised when he
spent time at the Eagles as a 16yr old outmarked/outplayed Darling and Kennedy didn't lose a 1v1.
When the ball hits the deck has second and third efforts and burst out of the congestion delivered a 55m bullet on the chest.
He is an elite playmaker.

Been under wraps ever since.

But, Geelong isn't fooled as they had a tip off when he was in under 15's and watching him ever since.
Apparently he is very very high on Geelongs draft board and the only knock is a possible go home factor however, if he did the return would be very high as in multiple 1st rounds.

Eagles are betting on how the draft will pan out and are throwing smokescreens regarding buzzlinger as they know the only other club who may take him is Geelong that way they draft another quality kid and still get buzzlinger at 12.

But, if he slips to 12 will be the steal of the draft and be the player where you go how did he go at 12?

Elite disposal 93% he pulls the trigger.

Elite Intercepts
Elite footy IQ
Doesn't get beaten 1v1
Accumulator he wins his own footy

He won't be playing at Sandy he is ready made with a high ceiling will play early in the season round 1 and won't be out of the team for the next decade or so.

Not only a conspiracy to draft him, but keep him under the radar enough to skip him with their first and take him with their 2nd

He also played 3 or 4 senior WAFL games.

Missed the last half of the season with a shoulder injury , first half of the season was being called a top 5 pick , however in the latest is rated pick 14.
There could be a few shocks in the top 10 picks throwing a few tough choices to us.

im thinking a mixture of Max Hudghton and Tom Stewart personally!

Had a choice of 3 sports was signed to elite talent pathways in all of:
Cricket (gave up to focus on basketball and afl)
Basketball
Afl
It was between basketball and afl with both codes selling him hard but chose to focus on afl 2 years ago.

Supremely talented across 3 codes

1st game (with a dodgy shoulder)

26 disposals
9 marks
10 rebounds
2 inside 50's
1 goal
It's worth noting he gets more touches than Ginbey and Hewitt.

That's pretty good for a player carrying an injury

Watched all the Videos of the top 15 a couple of times. Cam McKenzie out of the picks most likely around ours has all the tools to be elite.. I’d think he’d be the best bet from the sample size I’ve seen.. Elite decision maker and great size..

May well be a star , but who are we really interested in - we pick up the best midfielder as our first pick , competition is going to massive for a spot.
Players like Bytel , Byrne are going to have to make as massive leap forward to beat off Windhager , Owens and the incoming new kid for a spot in the lineup.

Man you're all over the Buzz. I personally don't mind getting a kpd with our first. I think we need an elite key defender in there and atm we don't, if Buzz can be that I'm for it - yes sometimes you can get a great kpd later in the draft, but mostly they will have some deficiencies. If we could somehow get him and Cmack, that would be the dream.

Saints actually employ people to watch guys like Busslinger, so you'd like to think that West Coast can't possibly be hiding him.

They put him in for surgery before the championships so only have colts and school footy to judge him off. They can hide him from exposed form.

James Rowe would probably even suit us. I remember he was highly rated in the SANFL. I think he had a fairly handy goal tally. Not sure he was quite as good at AFL level but he would be good mature age back up for Butler who we don't have cover for without Long. There are a few in there that play small forward funny enough. Mitch Wallis for leadership, Stack, Narkle, Aarts could all play forward as well.

I can see why the like Hollands.

Elite two way Runner with an appetite to tackle. Changes the angles with his ball use and can go inside or out. If we could get into two of Cmac, Phillipou, Hollands, Humphrey, Tsatas losing next years first might be palatable if we don’t have to give much up on top of it.

I guess the thing with next year's first is

1. We won't need it for Bing if he's still the plan as he's contracted
2. We may think we will go up the ladder with better coaching.

But a realistic trade up into say pick 11 would be St Kilda out future 1st, pick 28 in 11. We will have to pay overs to get up and I'm not sure it's worth it.
