Now this would throw an electric eel among the birds.

Cmac to the eagles?
If accurate you would have to think the Hawks are super keen. It’s a decent amount of club resourcing to throw at a last minute interview on the other side of the country. Must’ve been keen on Pou & with it appearing the Pou is off to the Bombers the Hawks are scrambling a bit.

This is where we need balls of steel if Ginbey goes to the hawks and go all out for west coasts pick.

Future first and 47 for 9?

Cmac and Tsatas/Clark

I've been keen on D'Aloia, he's a bit of a Worpol type of grunt inside mid who was tipped to go top 10 as a junior but has had a less spectacular 2022.

**** you'd want to get 2 stars and not another Clark/Coffield types or Toce would be wanting to get Keeler and Van Es late and they become stars.

I doubt that would be enough for them though. They have to sell this to their fans.

The Bombers have been linked to WA on-baller Elijah Hewett, who’s also been linked to St Kilda. Although it’s been suggested the Saints will target a key-position player with one of their second-rounders, with GWV Rebels backman James Van Es linked to the club
That would be a good outcome if we do get Van Es.

Apart from Essendon, who it appears have since settled on Phillipou, no club has been linked to Tsatas. Tsatas seems to be the one player that hasn’t been associated with any club. I think he could be the big slider.

If Tsatas was the midfielder left at our pick would we take him or maybe reach for Hewitt or Hollands? Tsatas does seem too good to overlook at 10 but his low contested numbers worry me.
Running full tilt in the highlights package and puts his foot right through the ball and manages about 45 😳. That’s to go with the generally sloppy disposal, no thanks.

I’d even consider doing our future first and our first second rounder this year.

2 of Mackenzie/Tsatas/Clark

For whatever we have next year and maybe Keeler.

If I was a Top 10 pick in the AFL ,and the reigning premiers had a top 7 pick, along with the talent Geelong will have at their disposal in 2023,would they be the side you would want to go to .Not me,
I would be itching to play at the highest level ASAP.
After 2 seasons, you may have played 20/ 30 games less than the 6 players selected in front of you.

AFL Draft 2022: All the latest news on the top South Australian prospects

From Mattaes Phillipou to Harry Lemmey and Frank Szekely, here is the latest intel on which AFL clubs are keen on South Australia’s top draft talent.

Top-10 pick contender Mattaes Phillipou may be taking all the spotlight but a number of other South Australians look set to find an AFL home in next week’s draft.

Harry Barnett
West Adelaide, ruck

GWS (15, 18, 19), Collingwood, Sydney or West Coast look likeliest to add the draft’s best under-18 ruckman late in the first round or early in the second.

Shaun Bennier

North Adelaide, defender
Brisbane and the Bulldogs have shown some interest.

Adam D’Aloia

Woodville-West Torrens, midfielder
Expected to get taken somewhere around pick 40 to 50. The Western Bulldogs (39), Hawthorn (41, 48, 50), Essendon (54) and Fremantle (43, 44) all have picks in that range and are understood to be in the mix.

Billy Dowling

North Adelaide, midfielder
Shaping as a late to rookie chance.

Tom Emmett

Sturt, forward
Fremantle is said to be keen on the Double Blues’ mature-ager.

Phoenix Foster

Norwood, forward/ruck
Hawthorn, which holds picks 41, 48, 50, 52 and 63 late in the draft, looks most likely. Port Adelaide and Geelong also have interest. Collingwood may consider him as a rookie.

Harry Lemmey

West Adelaide, forward/defender
Tipped to be taken around the 25 to 35 mark. Collingwood (25, 27), Carlton (29), Fremantle (30), Port Adelaide (33) and West Coast (26) are among those said to have some interest.

Archie Lovelock

Glenelg, midfielder
Has had recent chats with Geelong and St Kilda.

Baynen Lowe

Norwood, small forward
Fremantle is believed to have shown interest in the Redlegs premiership player.

Max Michalanney

Norwood, defender
Sydney, the Western Bulldogs, North Melbourne, Collingwood and West Coast are looming as the likeliest clubs to bid on the Crows father-son prospect. There is a decent chance it now happens on the first night. The Swans have 14 and 17, Bulldogs have 11 and 21, Kangaroos have 23, Magpies have 16 and 25, and Eagles have 12, 20 and 26.

Rhett Montgomerie

Central District, defender
Montgomerie is ready to go and is believed to have caught the eye of the Western Bulldogs, Melbourne and Essendon.

Mattaes Phillipou

Woodville-West Torrens, midfielder
Essendon is favoured to snare the big-bodied on-baller with pick 4 but Hawthorn at six, West Coast at eight or St Kilda at nine are also believed to be a chance.

Jakob Ryan

Glenelg, defender
Red-hot mail has Collingwood snaring the peroxide blond backman with a mullet at 16. West Coast could take him if he was available at 20. Adelaide is believed to have shown interest but will need to trade a future selection to be a chance to nab him.

Frank Szekely

North Adelaide, small forward/wingman
The three most interested clubs are understood to be Port Adelaide, Fremantle and Geelong.

Will Verrall

South Adelaide, ruck
Melbourne, Geelong, Collingwood and Port Adelaide are believed to be interested in him as a potential rookie option.

No keeler?

Tstatis is the player I hope isn’t around at our pick. In saying that, coming into a professional environment with afl coaches. Weakness can be developed.

Just because guys like polac turned into duds, doesn’t mean history will repeat it’s self. His psyc testing will give a good indication if he had the mindset to face the challenges in front of him.

Just briefly scanning this and with CMac they say one of his improvements needs to be consistency, then in the first paragraph they say (and I quote)...

"Sandringham Dragons midfielder Cameron Mackenzie is one of the more reliable ballwinners in this year's draft crop, producing a remarkable level of consistency across multiple levels to establish himself as a Top 10 candidate."
I think the knock was consistenc5 between quarters.

He rarely has a bad game but goes up and down during the game and can have very quiet quarters.

Not much of a knock really

If we are landing 2 players who are consistent 7-8/10 that’s a win.

Even if it cost me the slight chance at an 8.5-9/10.

There is every chance we are picking in a similar position next year.
Agree.
Let’s bank 2 potential stars now and get cracking on improving this team.

Most high picks get fed straight in regardless of clubs they go to. 100 games in a bottom 4 side are a long grind. I'd go straight to the Cats.

I’d be happy with either Mckenzie or Clark. But I don’t think we need to necessarily target a taller midfielder after taking Windy & Owens last draft. Clark also plays a lot taller than his height. Media seem to be making Selwood comparisons but I’ve also read comparisons to Bartel from some of the draft watchers on here due to his overhead marking ability.
We do currently lack mids with overhead marking ability.
