I'm in my last week and a bit at this job (finish on 25th Jan) and motivation is lacking already.

Usually around Australia Day.
As someone who has played for a long time, best not to get too involved until preseason games. You tend to try and find the next "breakout" player and stick to them.
Better to just watch the preseason, pick the young rookies and go from there
