They have Schultz, Frederick and Switkowski. I can't see them wanting/needing McAdamI could see Freo giving up their second for McAdam. He is an icing player and they still need some icing.
I don’t know why he keeps getting mentioned, I can’t see McAdam going anywhere. But it would be the Adelaide thing to do, get them in late, spend time developing them and then give them away for picks we will take 4-6 years to develop to get close to McAdams output. They have Schultz, Frederick and Switkowski. That’s not a fun factFun fact, Lachie Schultz was taken in the same draft as Ned McHenry, but with pick 57, and is a better player in basically every way

They smashed that draftIt is for Fremantle
McAdam might as well stay. In a list filled with accumulators and scrappy types, he is one of the guys worth watching.I don’t know why he keeps getting mentioned, I can’t see McAdam going anywhere. Makes senseHis GF is still in her final year of high-school apparently, which is what prompted the trip over as they hadn't seen each other much. Won't be an issue next year.

Wasn't one of the issues that he came back to SA and didn't tell the club? Why is it assumed, JHF would return to Sth Aust, if he leaves NORTH .....he's not the home-sick type ...he could just as easily end up in SYD
Memory is he played a big role in raising his sister?I think it is central to JHF, he is a family man and he is a provider.

You'd want more than that.I could see Freo giving up their second for McAdam. He is an icing player and they still need some icing.
McAdam plays before Schultz and Frederick, though. They have Schultz, Frederick and Switkowski. I can't see them wanting/needing McAdam
It was actually NORTHS issue .....they told players to go home & be with their Mothers, for Mothers Day ....so North should have known players would go interstate ....however, because there wasn't an official notification, it caused an issue with Asada ....clubs have to advise where players are, for drug testingWasn't one of the issues that he came back to SA and didn't tell the club?
Seems like family is very important to him.

He plays before Frederick, but he’s also 5 years younger. Probably on a similar level to Schultz (maybe a bit below), who’s their best goalkicking small forward, but there’s still not much room for him in their forward mixMcAdam plays before Schultz and Frederick, though.
Freo have excellent small forwards, but limited marking strength. McAdam would be a very good fit
The idea is that you buy low, sell high. He's 27, so another 4 years at the max at AFL level, and really he's not going to get any better than he is now IMHO. I don't believe he will have another 4 or 5 years of very good to excellent football ahead. He's played well the last few weeks, but not at the excellent level kicking 5 or 6 goals a week. Why would we contemplate trading McAdam ... his body hasn't been battered so he should have a very good to excellent 4-5 years left in him .
Is only just nearing on his peak and offers our forward line something we sorely lack . He is a cracker .
And how has that worked for us with Greenwood and Keath? The idea is that you buy low, sell high. If we can get something of value for him, then we sell - the question is what is the value we'd trade him for? Is it a player or is it a draft pick? If it's their 2nd round pick (~30), then I don't think I would, but if we can get their 1st for McAdam and our 2nd, maybe we do that. But would Freo do that?
Exactly rightAnd how has that worked for us with Greenwood and Keath?
We get them in late, spend a couple of years developing them, they play decent footy for 1-2 years and then we move them on? For what? Moving up a little bit in the draft? Their first will be 14 plus, our second 20-25. Then we need to spend 4-5 years developing and hope they can produce what McAdam is? You are also assuming Hamish will pick a decent player and thats very questionable. You are also in the constant development mode with a squad that always needs work.
As for the benchmark you have set to be playing "excellent", 5 -6 goals a week has him kicking over 100 goals a year. When is the last time thats happened? Would be good though, he'd win the Coleman and Brownlow as a smallish forward.
And as I added to my post, we just end up with lists that need constant development, which is what those rabbles did.Exactly right
McAdam isn't gaining us a first round pick and isn't taking up significant cap room. Plays a hybrid role so isn't stopping any young key forwards or small forwards from developing.
Would be no benefit from trading him.
We should be targeting finals next year too. Would be our sixth year in a row without making them which would be entering Carlton/Melbourne perennial rabble decade+ in the doldrums waters.
Fremantle have been incredible recently. Smashed the draft and absolutely nailed trades. They smashed that draft
And ain't that the truth. The Alex Keath Strategy
(Formerly known as the Hugh Greenwood Strategy until he started stinking it up this year)
