It looks like there is going to be some huge trade moves this off season.
Franklin
Dusty
Half of GWS
Lobb
JHF
Rankine
edit Dunkley
It should be very interesting.
Is "half of GWS"?Is Lobb ever not on that list?
Can't bid match on Keeler unless he goes 41+. Seems unlikely! Then Match bid on Keeler.
Add a KPD and ruck with late picks/rookie draft.
These playstation trades are easy. I don't know why you lot get worked up over it![]()
You reckon Port won't pounce on Philippou before us if we get pick 8 (assuming they still have their current pick 7)?
I'm struggling to see how we can end up with Rankine this year and JHF next year, we just don't have the draft capital or players to trade to get that capital.
Ideally I want to get Rankine and Philippou this year (that will take some creative trading itself) and JHF next year, I just don't know how that can be achieved.

Unless you are Geelong, yes those are the rules. My understanding is that the Crows can trade two 1st round picks, but must use two 1sts in a rolling 4 year period.
I think.![]()
Sounds good in theory but the club's involved want immediate payment for loss of player. We will need to trade out some quality to bring in better quality.Trade 2023 first GC for Rankine (plus something back)
Pick 4 on Philipou
In 12 months time trade 2024 first plus a player (Keays ) JHF
Alternatively, turn and early second into teens pick, and trade that .
Not true, clubs always posture and say they want “established players” but it’s extremely rare that happens. If these deals get done they’ll get done for picks. So

Is our 2023 1st overpaying for Rankine? I think it is. I think Rankine is worthy of pick 15-20 which is what we paid for Dawson. I see Dawson and Rankine as similar quality and if anything Dawson is the better player. I would look at ways of getting our hands on a pick around 15-20. That may involve trading a player if they want to leave. I would keep our 2023 1st for Horne when OOC.Not true, clubs always posture and say they want “established players” but it’s extremely rare that happens. After Ashcroft, Pick 5 to pick 9 is 419 points so the equivilent of pick 41Yep, you're right. Someone mentioned the other day that this was equivalent to pick 13, and I believed it without checking.
Gold Coast where he's just bought an apartment as reported in today's Courier Mail. GC have $650k loose from Rankine to use on him.Surely Buddy isn't heading to the Lions?

I wouldn't trade Laird but Keays has very good value at present and I don't feel he is critical to our next flag.I’d trade anyone over 25 to get what’s required to get Brisbane’s first to use as the bulk of what’s required for Rankine. Not a single player would be off the table. But I wouldn’t trade both Laird and Keays. Any other multi is ok though.
King will need time to recover from his ACL and there is also the chance he may not become the player that he was destined to be.Gold Coast where he's just bought an apartment as reported in today's Courier Mail. GC have $650k loose from Rankine to use on him.

What evidence is there to suggest Laird wants to leave?Laird could potentially get us closer to JHF capital as well. I’d then just put Keays back into the guts and probably keep Crouch as a backup mid that we could plug in if needed. I don’t think we’re in a position to knock back good offers for 25+ year olds if it gets us future guns.
I'm hoping he might slide. A lot. Can't bid match on Keeler unless he goes 41+. Seems unlikely!

he wants to take up cricket full time if not picked by the Adelaide Crows in the draft...that should do itLet's start some rumors!
If Keays gets offered a nice long term deal by GC I could very much see him wanting to take it up if he wants to get back to Qld. I think GC would be very interested in Ben. Doedee would be harder to trade but a Victorian team could target him with an offer he can't refuse.

He has a massive contract that Brisbane might not be keen to take on. At the moment he’s got the number one midfielder role. Brisbane have Neale, Lyons, Bailey, Rayner etc. Laird is South Australian.
be like the muppet cornes suggesting if Rankine wanted port, they trade Butters and Rozee....oh hang on, they mightI can't see there being anyway we trade Keays. As a club I just can't see it happening. I wouldn't be against it though.
Got to be a better idea than Kornes' thinking that a Rankine trade will need Thilthorpe, or Fog + Rachele.
I don't know what that flog smokes, but holy hell it must be strong.
