Remove the Fitztroy and South Melbourne element out of the Lions and Sydney and I suspect it will be all non Vic Clubs will be similar to us.Apparently in our entire history we've only recruited 5 players that had previously played in a Premiership.

Is this something we may need to look at in the future?

Welsh?Darren Jarman, Wayne Carey are two that stand out... Was Troy Bond at Carlton in 95? Was he dropped for the GF? Who are the other ones?
Nope...unless you have something for us...Not sure about anyone else but I'm feeling like something big is brewing...
Welsh?

Doesn't look like he played in 96Mark Stevens?
So Jarman, Carey, Welsh, Podsiadly.... One left, a foundation player perhaps? In 91 with a Premiership in the 80'sDoesn't look like he played in 96
Podsiadly another one
Going back well before my time ahaha, but Tony Hall I thinkSo Jarman, Carey, Welsh, Podsiadly.... One left
That 2017 list of ours was a disaster
Worked well for st kildaApparently in our entire history we've only recruited 5 players that had previously played in a Premiership.

Did our wooden spoon and missing the 8 for 5 years running happen with good list management? That 2017 list of ours was a disaster
Which makes our first up high offers silly.Posturing, a team 9/10 times will take unders instead of letting them walk for nothing.
Apparently a million a year for 6 or 7 years?I wouldn't mind us having a conversation with GWS about Whitfield. Future 2nd rd pick and we take all his salary.
A fair chunk of our 2017 team were drafted pre 2012. Since then we’ve had draft sanctions, players leaving, some shitty contracts, some shitty trades, paying players to play elsewhere and a C grade midfield. How many premierships did it win?
How many more finals did it play?
What happened to it afterwards?
No, look at the position of hawthorn, geelong, west coast vs st kilda and MelbourneApparently in our entire history we've only recruited 5 players that had previously played in a Premiership.

Imagine a club trading for chad rintoul and Aaron Keating because they played in a premiershipDarren Jarman, Wayne Carey are two that stand out... Was Troy Bond at Carlton in 95? Was he dropped for the GF? Who are the other ones?
Yep. Troy Bond dropped from the Carlton premiership side. Very unlucky.Darren Jarman, Wayne Carey are two that stand out... Was Troy Bond at Carlton in 95? Was he dropped for the GF? Who are the other ones?
disagree.Exactly. The heavy lifting in 2017 was done by older players who went as far as they were able to go, and by and large they all fell off precipitously in the next few years, while practically none of the players drafted from 2011 onwards came on. Yet both sets continued to receive unwarranted and excessive contracts, while a handful of discards went on to make more of themselves than the ones we decided to keep. And that's before even getting into the types of players we have overlooked in favour of drafting niche positions, the club bafflingly unaware you can't patch enough holes in a net to turn it into a tarp.
Woeful list mismanagement.
