I'm confused why teams dont just fling the ball forward after a blocked punt instead of just recovering the ball abd taking the TFL

If the pass is incomplete, the opponent starts from the LOS not where the TFL occurred. If it's INT'd, even better field than the LOS. And if it's caught you may end up with a 1st down yourself.
