Second option assuming Magginess plays. Don't like Caldwell and Treloar as picks, and Stewart ( 😍 ) and Crisp are priced at their maximum.

105 + 100 + 75 + 95 + 75 = 450
vs
100 + 95 + 125 + 95 (JdG) + 50 = 465
disagree on Crisp. Averaged 112 in the 2nd half of last season when he started getting more time on-ball. That continues this season, so I think he's a little unders.

on Caldwell, where do you get 75 from? Even guys like Redden, Swallow, Drew, ECurnow, etc can average 85-90 playing a pure midfield role. Caldwell is going to get that role, so I can't see why he doesn't get the free points associated with it. Just need his body to hold up. 22 touches and 9 tackles in round 1 last year, that's a good sign. He was back at the end of last season, so it's not like he missed any of the preseason.

Short, Ridley or Dawson?

Tarryn Thomas or Butters?

Yeah at the moment. I'm seeing whether or not I can turn Caldwell into Oliver by downgrading a bunch of others.

This is my team, but with Stewart instead of Ridley:
Stewart is an excellent pick. i get that he’s max priced but he’s 100% now and he is still the only elite kick in Geelong’s back half so they give it to him every chance they can. There’s a few horrid kicks in our defence so they'd be instructed to no doubt.

First one is hard. Ridley for me

Butters easily imo

I'm not that convinced with Butters I don't think he will go as well as many expect. Around that price I would go DeGoey then Tarryn Thomas before Butters

De Goey for sure if he's fit, just worried about that rib and body contact in the middle. Let's see in the official praccy match.

I dunno about TT, not sure he gets the right amount of mid time. Also North are shit.

Port need midfielders. Haven't they reduced Boak's midfield time to make room for some pace? Either way, even as a high half forward, Butters is the goal assist and kick inside 50 king.

De Goey > Butters > Bailey > Thomas > Heeney
I can see them all going 90, but which will go 100-105?

Crisp's scores don't correlate exactly with CBAs, he was just scoring better in his regular backline role.

JDavey has done the numbers

Still time around the ball though, not just CBA's. Starting on a wing or at half back and then running into the contest. Basically just not being stuck at half back.

Anyway he's not going back in the 90s that's for sure. He'll average 100-110 for sure. And you'll get 22 games, that's the beauty of him

Anyone else on here had a broken rib before? Two weeks rest my clacker!

Steel or MaCrae?
Steel or Oliver?

Curnow, Mitch McGovern, Bailey Williams or Ralphsmith?

Caldwell has a top score of 84. Optimistic to expect him to average that, which he needs to, to be a good pick. How many games will he play, as so far in his (short) career he has not proved durable. Didn't he spud it in the practice match the other day? Don't see the appeal tbh.

Fair enough re:Crisp, but how often do blokes average 90 forever, then have a spike season and go back to their average? Like his durability though.

He only played a half, or less, and by all accounts he dominated early (Essendon site match report title included "Caldwell on fire")

95-100 average is his floor. 2019 was a down year (he was very poor for parts of that season) as much as much as 2021 was a spike year. So a revert to that, with 22 games, isn't the worst result

Though I'll back his 112 average in the 2nd half of last season to continue

New coach too is interesting. Pies lack of good players probably helps him though.

Dunkley & Davies vs Touk Miller & Curnow
