That was magnificent to watch. I think the experience over the last 12 months with that player, will sting the players and coaches of the NMFC for a very long time. I hope it motivates us every time we play the PAFC (who have not covered themselves in glory in this matter) to never let them beat us.

In 1989, the VFL pushed Fitzroy to merge with Footscray. The Bulldogs supporters rebelled and would have none of it and they raised sufficient funds to get through and survive. For the next 7 years until they died in 1996, Fitzroy never once beat the dogs, such was the passion from the bulldogs.

I hope our boys, who witnessed that "disgrace to the jumper" in their ranks this last 12 months, can strive to never let that mob from Port Adelaide ever beat us again. Just as the dogs did to Fitzroy.

I hate to link Fitzroy with this ex-player, because we were very much innocent victims of a VFL inspired plot in 1989.

Note our win/loss record vs Carlton since they made an attempt to buy us in 91'...

We will have Ports covered for the next 30 years.

The AFL has a problem that will never be fixed.

A bloke 2 seasons into his career has held his club to ransom because he wants to play with his brother, and home town. 1 hour away, 1 hour. By car.

People say “walk to the PSD” is irrelevant, Free Agency has always been in the comp and you don’t have to spend 7 years to get there.

*** played less then 12 months and went back to suckle the boob. Homesickness is not the reason. The reason is that weasel got a massive pay day, can hang out with his mates because this amateur competition allows it.

It’s laughable.

The best answer will never happen due to the CBA and the AFLPA.

If a contracted wants out, they shouldn't be dictating where they want to be traded. They can nominate they want out, but clubs can then start negotiating with whoever they want.

The current situation is amateur hour. "I'm homesick. But only homesick enough to play for Team A, not Team B whose training facility is a 10min drive from Team A's"

The competition is so immature.
