Training 2022 Training Reports

There must be a strong breeze blowing from west to east today, because I was driving down the road and apiece of paper flew into my windscreen. It appeared to have some writing on it, nd on closer inspection this is what it revealed - make of it what you will!

Training report 10th Jan

All hands on deck with majority of players in full training and looking really fit.

A number of players in the rehab group. Half of which joined in for some of the match sims.

Very few players looking to be carrying an injury with the only player not sighted in Mundy.

The main match sim being an intense pressure on the ball carrier from defence to forward line. All players not giving the ball carrier any space. Was good to see.

The younger players showed their worth later on in other match sims which appeared to be a more deliberate free flow.

Erasmus and Johnson looking every bit worth their draft position. Amiss looks to need his touch with his first full training.

The only player looking unfit is Valente who has added some weight.

The boys ran solid from 9am til 12 o'clock

I've seen a fit Freo but then I've seen this Freo and the majority of the boys look like they can run all day.

Hamling Pearce Logue look like beasts down back.

Much luv and peace

Geez that is the best news about Fyfe getting both arms up to mark. I really thought he would struggle to play much of the year when the news of the infection broke. Sounds very promising.
Yeah, it's almost like the WA media made it sound worse than it was - but that couldn't be right could it? ;)

I caught the final hour of training today, and let me say before anyone gets their hopes up for more information, it was the first day back from a 16 day break, so they took things rather easy today - even though the session went for 2 and half hours.

I counted 29 players on the track, with a small group of players training in the rehab group which were Joel Western, Luke Valente, Josh Treacy and Hayden Young, whilst Fyfe, Tabs and Giro just ran laps.

No sign of David Mundy, however it does appear to be a standard 3 week ankle roll recovery time according to regular training watchers down there.
However they will most likely give him until the end of January before he starts back into full training again.

The players have all returned super fit and healthy, especially Sean Darcy who looks lean, mean and ripped. Fyfey looks really great too, however he has lost his upper body conditioning and muscle definition.

Rory Lobb trained fully and was in great spirits, so he seems cleary happy to stay here if you ask me.

The players eased back into training with some light ball work and goal kicking practice, along with a few match up drills. Then the session ended with repeated 100 meter sprints.

Usually the guys are bit rusty at this time of the year, but the skills seemed pretty good to me.

I saw Noddy take a fantastic mark against Griffin Logue on the western side wing, which drew a huge round of applause from the public gallery.

So before I get anyone's hopes up too much, let me just say that I left training rather happy today.

Make what you want out of that.

Giro ran laps?

Wasn't he delisted?

Due to Victoria being an extreme risk rating for some time I would be betting that Karl Worner has not made the trip over yet. Probably unable to travel until Feb 5th but this is just my guess.

On the very positive side, notice that Erasmus is right next to Brayshaw in the picture and I can assure you he has been following him around as well before Chrissy. He wants to debut round one no doubt. How exciting!
Yep. Erasmus is quicker and a better distance runner than advertised in his draft profile. His repeat running for such a young player is outstanding. One of the best in repeat 100's too. I'd be betting on a round 1 debut and I could see him spending time like Seong did in his first year playing on some A graders in a negating role at some point.

I’m going all in. Reckon Erasmus will line up Rd1 playing as a high half forward. Sturt on the other side & Freddy on a wing.

I'm saying he will start on a wing. His running is brilliant for a young player and he can break the lines from Day 1.
