Ovens and Murray is an extremely strong country league. This is more likely than a district league.
Yes I didn't mean a lower league. Just that someone here reported we were sniffing around a young ruck from Albury or thereabouts.

WESTERN BULLDOGS

Current 2023 National Draft Picks: 13, 17, 36, 68, 69, 71, 87

After taking Jamarra Ugle-Hagan as an NGA selection in 2020 and Sam Darcy as a father-son a year later, the Western Bulldogs have access to another highly-rated tall in the 2023 draft. Jordan Croft, the son of 186-game Bulldog Matthew, booted four goals for Vic Metro in the recent exhibition match against the Young Guns, catching the eye of recruiters. The breakout performance came after the skilful, 200cm forward, who is father-son eligble, finished with five goals and 152 Champion Data ranking points against NT in the Coates Talent League.

Are there any SA doggies or other draft gurus that can give more info on Kane McAuliffe
North Adelaide/South Australia
MID, 187cm, 90kg
SANFL u18s: 5 games, 26 disposals, 5.8 tackles
Averaging 5.8 tackles in 5 games, maybe a chance to fill the massive hole libbbbbba will leave. U18 and 90 kegs, projected around pick 18.

Williamstown teammate and former Melbourne defender Marty Hore has also attracted some late interest ahead of the mid-season draft, including from the Western Bulldogs and Greater Western Sydney.

Hore, 27, has been the leading intercept player in the VFL this year, averaging 5.6 intercept marks and 10.4 intercept possessions.

Would happily take Hore. Been in the system before. Gives us some depth in a role we barely have any first team players in. He may even come on with a late career resurgence.

Good size and his VFL numbers are impressive.

Possibly Toby Murray who plays for Wangaratta Rovers in the Ovens and Murry League. He's nominated for the mid season draft. Brother of Nick (Adelaide) and Sam (ex Sydney/Collingwood). He's a 20 year old 200cm ruck that plays a bit up forward.

Yes but perhaps not using his name.
The ones we should look at with our picks are:
Pick 13- Wilson plays a lot like a young Trent Cotchin 186cm also late birthday
Pick 16-Freijah plays like Isaac Smith but a right footer 192cm
Pick 34-Philactides hard running half back 182cm or
Clay Hall could be anything 190cm classy hard at it on baler classic left foot.
Pick 64 -Croft we will go into deficit 200cm project

Rest of talent will be taken by our picks but these guys are all perfect fits for our future.

Poulter isn't a world beater, but at 20 and 193cm, he's probably got plenty more development in him and plays in a position of need. Collingwood may have been a bit hasty in delisting him.

I was told the delisting was attitude related. A new club and a big kick in the arse has probably done him a lot of good. I am hoping that anyway.

Pies are notorious for keeping blokes with a shit attitude so long as they’re good at footy - it’s the ones that have both a shit attitude and are shit at footy that get cut, considering they only gave Poulter a year I have my concerns

Your not the only one with concerns. We would know him better after months at Footscray, so hopefully he has sorted himself out.

You are right in it being highly unusual for him to be cut that quickly. Scouting teams are thorough these days and 1 year stints for high picks are rare.

He only has to be a better wing option than McComb to justify a 6 month contract.

Yeah no doubt, hopefully was the wake up call he needed. I’d be more than happy with him for 6 month contract which seems likely, then give him a couple of games before the years out see if there’s anything to work with
