Not exactly a high bar, but then again expectations should be pretty low for a mid season recruit.

Robert Hanson Jr's game highlights look pretty good though.

We are probably a small forward short. The ones we play in the positions right now don't stay in the game for long enough. Plus I think that AJ will probably be more of a wingman long term.

My thoughts exactly.

I've pretty much settled on these 4 names. Robert Hanson Jr (small forward), Ethan Stanley (winger), Shaun Mannaugh (mid/fwd) and Clay Tucker (ruck).

After watching Poulter's game on the weekend, I'd prefer not to go anywhere near him.

Poulter was horrible yesterday probably cost himself a spot on the list

I'm expecting Freo to grab RHJ.

Marty Hore fills an intercepting defender need down back, and Mannaugh plays that forward/high link forward role but seems (to the eyeball) to have the tank for wing rotations to chop out our starting wings too.

Brandon Ryan (Northern Bullants) (200cm FWD/RUCK)
Clay Tucker (Eastern Ranges) (204cm RUCK)
Ethan Stanley (Box Hill) (188cm WING)
Flynn Riley (Northern Knights) (206cm RUCK)
Jack Buller (Claremont) (199cm FWD)
Jaiden Hunter (Perth) (196cm FWD)
James Trezise (Richmond VFL) (188cm UTIL)
Mutaz El Nour (Richmond VFL) (192cm DEF)
Robert Hansen jnr (Subiaco) (180cm FWD)
Ryan Maric (Gippsland Power) (193cm FWD)
Rye Penny (Calder Cannons) (186cm DEF)
Will Elliott (Oakleigh Chargers) (202cm RUCK)

These are the players have done medicos ahead of the MSD. These are the players that have been nominated by multiple clubs.

Freo could go for one of the Western Australian tall forwards on the list above. They really need one looking at their list.

Crofty is going to eat up one of our first rounders…. [emoji20]

Not an ideal situation. Perhaps we look to get really high up in the draft OR turn our picks into future first rounder / players.

Must get Doedee as a FA and look at Callaghan @ GWS too. They might like a 2 first rounders for Callaghan plus their future first.

Anyone else slightly worried that our draft hand will yet again be chewed up by another father son.

3rd time in as many years, we're missing out on depth again if he goes high. Clubs know this and force early bids to make us over pay on somebody who probably hasn't put together a first round worthy performance as yet.

It’s certainly not great news for us. A raw developing key forward is probably the last thing we need on the list unless the club is confident he can become a key defender.

I wanted to draft two highly rated mids in the first round and I seriously doubt how we can manage to get more than one now. We’ll either have to package those two picks up to move into the top 10 or lose a pick if a bid comes in the mid teens.

So Twomey has us being linked to Hore and Mutaz El Nour
Two intercept defenders, Hore the best performed and El Nour was once part of our NGA program IIRC
Makes sense.

Need to trade into the top 10 with our 2 first rounders

Should be all over the GC first pick
Oh yeah. Especially with their 3 academy kids, a points surplus for them helps both clubs.
Those 3x 4th rounders we banked last year could prove useful

Disagree on Croft & Moir, who is as talented as anybody but showing a (concerning) lack of competitiveness in games.
If McAuliffe is sliding (as seems to be the case) we coudl try trading back into the draft after any croft bid.

Tholstrup sliding is interesting too. That tall hybrid mid/forward type that every coach loves.

Is it possible that we pass on Croft?

If we need midfield bulls, we need to draft (or trade for) them.

Would be interesting to watch a club call our bluff on Croft, only to find that we're willing to let him go!

I don’t think other clubs will risk a “dummy” bid on Croft just to hurt us on points given they will know it’s not a position of need for us and therefore won’t overpay. I’m confident a club will only bid where they’re genuinely happy to end up taking him.

If he’s bid on in a “fair” position we’ll take him because of the discount (~40% when you factor in trading down for points).
