Apparently Carlton did not nominate Newman for AA?

#SakcSomeone!

Oh No Oops GIF by Jackson-Triggs

Someone at the club clearly forgot to nominate him.

Charlie an AA lock.

Weiters probably misses out as the bridesmaid in his position (but honourable mention).

Selectors forgot to rub Cripps' name off the whiteboard from last year.

Midfielder from Carlton? Check!
Worth of AA squad? Check!
Surname starts with C? Check!
Is Adam Cerra? Ooops...

If they actually picked players in the positions they play, such as wingmen on the wing, Acres would have to be in contention. That position never gets any respect, it's a speciality position that only a handful players in any one season appear to be elite in.

Almost certain that this year they will actually pick wingmen (Gulden and Daicos)

Having a crack at the team:

FB: Sicily, Weitering, Stewart
HB: Dawson, Moore, Sinclair
C: J. Daicos, Butters, Gulden
R: English, Bontempelli, N. Daicos
HF: Petracca, Curnow, Greene
FF: Cameron, Walker, Larkey
I/C: Blakey, Neale, Jackson, Langford

I've got Weiters and Moore beating out Andrews, Ryan and Wilkie for key defensive spots.
Sicily and Stewart get in as general defenders over Redman,
Dawson and Sinclair ahead of Quaynor and Houston as rebounding half-backs.
Josh Daicos and Gulden are the only ones I'd classify as genuine wingers and I think both are deserving.
English gets the ruck spot over Jackson and Marshall.
Bont and Nick Daicos first picked in the middle, and Butters to join them - they trump Cripps, Merrett, Serong, Anderson, Coniglio, Green, Newcombe, Viney and Liberatore.
Petracca sneaks into HF as a versatile mid ahead of De Goey and Rozee.
Cameron and Greene get the nod over Breust as specialist small forwards.
Curnow and Walker take the key forward posts with Daniher and Allen missing out, and I've also made room for Larkey here.
Bench made up of the versatile Blakey, elite mid in Neale, a ruck/fwd in Jackson and the underrated general forward in Langford.

Moore probably gets the captaincy.

That's my take, anyway. Fully expecting the panel to shoehorn in Dustin Martin one more time, and Cornes probably uses what little influence he has to ensure Rozee makes the cut somehow.

Official AA Team to be released tonight ...

The 2023 fan-voted AFL All-Australian team

FB: Tom Stewart, Harris Andrews, Dan Houston
HB: Nick Daicos, Darcy Moore, James Sicily
C: Josh Daicos, Jordan Dawson, Errol Gulden
HF: Christian Petracca, Taylor Walker, Toby Greene
FF: Charlie Cameron, Charlie Curnow, Nick Larkey
Foll: Tim English, Marcus Bontempelli, Zak Butters

I/C: Connor Rozee, Jack Sinclair, Tom Liberatore, Lachie Neale

COLLINGWOOD superstar Nick Daicos and Carlton's Coleman medallist Charlie Curnow are the most popular picks in the fan-voted 2023 All-Australian team. Daicos and Curnow both garnered more than 39,500 of the 40,000 plus votes cast by fans on AFL.com.au in the lead-up to the announcement of the official team at the AFL Awards on Wednesday night.

Bonts had a great individual year but I see him as a huge stat padder.

Butters was my MVP. Glad he got the other rewards

Callum Wilkie better than Weiters.

I've heard everything.
