From what I can tell, GA areas set aside will be:

Warne Stand:
- Q1-5 & Q6-16 (1/3 top)
Ponsford Stand:
- Q31-36 (1/2 top)
Olympic Stand (all seats sold)

In a way it’s been poorly planned. Ticket sales were flying this week and if they reverted to fully ticketed I think they would’ve gone close to selling the whole thing out. As it is, there’s probably 7-8,000 GA seats and the ‘sellout’ communication will probably deter a few and mean the GA areas won’t be fully used. It’s basically causing I’d say 2-3,000 to miss out / not attend.

With an expected poor Blues member show rate, I’d say it’s looking like 72-74,000. That's a pity because the Blues fans will probably miss their side winning on the night.
Carlton and winning?? I don't see it happening.

LOL us Bomber fans have watched this "Horror" movie many times. People can say how negative or pessimistic we are but we know what will happen with the result. Blues will do a '99 Prelim on us and their supporters will be jumping in the aisles while we walk out with our tails between our legs. So Carlton fans should be there in droves! They would be confident of winning and that will mean a decent Carlton roll up.
The only way I see Carlton fans turning up in droves is that all the tickets purchased by Essendon fans there are minority mates who are Carlton supporters going with them and if the members turn up otherwise no.

Did you really need to start a thread just to brag about Collingwood having the biggest crowd for this round?

If Carlton weren't going so badly the crowd for their game against Essendon might have been bigger than the King's Birthday crowd, it still might be.

It’s not about an upset. Blues strengths align with Bomber weaknesses. Blues should rightly feel this is winnable. In all honesty it’s not actually a surprise and shouldn’t be treated as such (Eg: winning games Bombers should win).

I know this is very random but out of curiosity i looked at the ticket sales for Gold Coast vs Collingwood in Queensland and it looks like it will be massive. Could be the first sellout for Gold Coast in years.

Wouldn’t surprise me if it is a sellout. And it’s the twilight time slot on Saturday, the perfect slot in my opinion for matches on the Gold Coast!

It should be in all honesty. If it coincides with school holidays it probably should.

That's weird how with some sellouts in Melbourne, you can scan in with a GA membership and with some sellouts you can't.

Why is it so inconsistent?

If the suns keep winning it definitely will be.

Because they sell general admission tickets on Ticketek. Say 4,000 bought those, there needs to be enough seats for them but if the club members scan in there will be a lockout.
I disagree with this, club members should have priority but the afl and mcc just meant more gate receipts

very very very very minimal chance it gets more than kings birthday

Carlton vs Essendon has only gotten more than 70k twice in the last decade - so a 70-75k crowd would be very impressive.
