Amarfio, who will finish up soon in the top job, said the Kangaroos had also requested four home games in Hobart, which could be impacted by an impending vote on the league’s 19th licence, for a team to be based in Tasmania.

They also want home games against major Victorian clubs - Collingwood, Essendon and Carlton - held at Marvel Stadium.

The AFL says the full fixture is not expected to be released until late November or early December.

Believe we have to play 1 home game as per the contract
Isn't the contract no longer valid since the AFL bought Marvel, or does it just continue on. I thought the contract was to appease the then owners of Marvel.

We can only play 1 away game at Docklands a year as things stand and it tends to rotate between North, StKilda and the Dogs. North haven't had one against us there without covid restrictions since 2018 so it's probably their time.

You know AFL and tradtions lol But i'm not actually sure tbh, I just assume it hasn't changed.

We have to play 2 home games there every year, for some reason.

I don't know if there's actually any signed agreement any more but we still keep getting fixtured there.

The AFL like to use us to prop up teams. We draw the crowds no matter where we play.

2 home games should only be against interstate teams. Surely it can’t be that hard to have this but every year has one of them against a team that plays their home games at Marvel

I’d like us to take Richmond and Hawthorn to Marvel. We get a legitimate home ground advantage against interstate sides that we lose when we then take them to a ground that they’re as familiar with as we are

You know 2021 was against interstate sides at marvel right?
2021 had games moved due to Covid still.

We played QBday against the Dees at SCG, and Port played one of their "home" games against us at Marvel.

Check non-covid years 2019, 2022.

Fixture always the same

14 MCG
3 Marvel
5 outside vic

The 3 marvel are always

1 home against a non-vic
1 home against a Marvel tenant
1 away against a Marvel tenant

I'm willing to be a lot of money that this extra round in 2023 (23 game home and away season) we will be forced to play the home state team.

EG we currently play the 22 games as follows - 14 MCG 3 Docklands 5 Interstate.

What is the bet that the 6th interstate game will be against either the Crows or Port if Adelaide host the "Magic Round"
OR
Against the Swans or Giants if Sydney host the round?

Just a criminal way for the AFL to make us play 6 interstate games.
