It was pick 12.

If we don’t get Thilthorpe, Pedlar, Rachele into the midfield … then that would be a massive over spend on the front half. Agreed.

I’m hopeful that’s the plan … Dawson / Pedlar / Rachele / Crouch / Laird with the likes of Soligo / Taylor / Jones / Cook / Nankervis / maybe Haywood adding to the rotations.

I think Keays days of being a full-time mid are well and truly done for. He's found his niche role up forward which he's proved he can be very successful at, while giving us some in-game depth as a mid in the event we had some injuries. Smith didn't get pushed to the wing until Jones went down too, so I would hope Jones gets that spot back once he's healthy.

It was a change in philosophy from the club though, identifying targets and actually getting them. Has borne fruit in subsequent years

I think you are forgetting that giving Brisbane another year to convince him to stay isn't a good idea, nor is assuming the draft pick will turn out into a star. In the real world you've gotta give some to get some and I fear you are trying to have it all a la some sim management game.

I’m not assuming anything re how the draft pick turns out. So FA is now a sim management game? Clubs don’t wait till FA to acquire players free of draft capital now? I guess I missed the bit where players are routinely traded for 1 year from being on the FA market. You’re not a teenager are you?

I feel bad for him that he never really got a crack at it in his best position as inside mid..but wishing all of the guys delisted all the very best on future endevours

Yep, we'll gladly have him back at Centrals. Will prob end up captain at some point.
