Mod notice after Mr Bob did a lot of annoying work in moving days of posts out of here. As we are heading into offseason, this thread is for 2023 list management only. Getting upset on previous trades can be taken to the vent thread. Lets keep this thread on track in the part of the year it's actually relevant

All those players over 28 will be nervous about whether they will be extended beyond 2024 so it makes sense for all parties to try and move them on now. They will need experience but I think they can bring in foot soldiers to wear the bruises for two years on the cheap.

Rebuild around Allen, Ginbey.

As dumb as it sounds I don't we should judge our season based on ladder position. There are 3.5 games separating 5th and 15th. This time last year there were 8 games between them, 2021 and 2019 there were 7, and 2018 there were 9. We're just incredibly unlucky that this happened to be the year we didn't have our first round pick.

Depends on how our last couple games go obviously, but we could end up in a place where we finish 15th with the same amount of wins that would've gotten us to finals just two years ago.

In a season where we beat the previous year's premiership side twice. Geelong would be 5th but for that.

That's an amazing stat. Thanks.

Just had to beat north Melbourne at home and we would have been amongst it 😭
And Richmond, Sydney etc.

When we played Sydney they were around the same spot as us on the ladder. Today they are inside the 8. The Richmond game after the bye a very bad loss.

I agree the North loss the worst of the season.

In fact our form at Optus has been terrible across the season.

Don’t forget there was an extra game this year. So comparing to previous seasons isn’t an exact science.

I wonder if there is actually any truth at all to Yeo potentially being on the move
He's an unrestricted free agent, so if he's willing to come for the right price and Young's move to the midfield becomes more permanent, then we should absolutely grab him.

I'd back the Merryman to get his body right and he'd be more than just handy depth for a few years.

Yeo is contracted until end of 2024, extended in Feb 2022.

If he’s unrestricted and he gets to the end of the year uninjured I’d actually do it. Give him a couple of years. Sit him off half back in Hughes spot, Chappy and Young to run through the midfield

Yeo is #25 on the Herald Sun's highest paid player list at around $850k per year. Even half his salary is a large amount, maybe more than we want/have to offer Henry.

Get that. A fit Elliot Yeo is a Brian Lake move. Risk/reward is huge.

I’ve like what I’ve seen of him off half back the last few weeks.
