Members not showing up, the biggest issue with having so many reserved seats (and it's the same issue for the big clubs at "sellouts" that can only get 80 to 85k at the MCG. Club gets the revenue either way so they don't care.
Disagree. Even financially, it still contributes to stadium advertising value and the sale of all associated concessions - parking, food, drinks, merch.
Also, we're all football people - we all want the ground full.

Well, I have just returned five seats back to the club for tonights game. We quite often do it - the credit applied off next year's membership is a bonus!

And you know they'll sell today

I did similar for our final H&A game last year - had a last minute trip to Qld for family reasons and wasn't sure exactly when I'd be home. I put my ticket up for sale the night before the match and had a nice little credit off for the following year

Absolutely. We were genuinely undecided up until an hour ago, but we've since decided to watch it from home tonight. As you say, very likely to sell. We have three children and one being an infant, so it's always a challenge in that regard. I love the seat return option the club provides. We get a handy little credit next year, and someone else can benefit and get a ticket to the game. It also means more Cats fans there in support of our boys - everyone is a winner!

"Some"

Why not just list all the bays you morons.

I'm thinking the Bulldogs clash was our last at Marvel - I'm pretty sure that the GA was listed the same as for this match

For that match, the GA bays along the wing were the ones with reserved front rows and GA from like row G (don't hold to the start of GA seating). The bays behind & beside the goals were the ones with full GA availablity

My favourite bays too. Have always disliked the wing.

Did any other members who have seats in the lower tier of the Players Stand complete the survery? The club sent out the following via email:

"Last year we communicated to all members in the lower tier of the Players Stand advising that you'd be moving to the Northern Stand to make way for General Admission bays. At that time, we received some feedback from our members and we now want to hear from you again to give you the opportunity to have your say before we lock in our plans for 2024".

The first question asked whether I'd be happy to move next year to the new stand, or remain in the Players Stand. The second question asked if it was compulsory to move in 2025, would I move next year (2024) in order to get the best possible seats.

The third question was something along the lines of - if I moved - would I be interested in purchasing additional seats..

My initial response to question one was to remain in the Players Stand. We're quite setlled there, enjoy the people around us and we love our aisle seats.

But it soon became apparant when I got to question two, that they have already made up their minds and it's just a matter of when it will be happening. That being the case, I'd rather get the move over with next year - as opposed to relocating in 2025.

I'd be interested to see what others thought of this and what their take was..

I know I have a completely different opinion as I don’t have permanent seats but my afl membership gets me into that stand and I hated it.
It’s all good and well you enjoy the people are you but I found myself listening to people’s everyday lives instead of watching the game.
Like I’m talking from being the game and all through the game it was just a general catch up.
Then we would kick a goal and it’s almost like people were there to just talk and not watch, no clapping etc.

So my frustrations would be polar opposite to yours

Agree. And I suspect this to be one of the reasons for the lack of atmosphere at the ground. Hoping a few more general admissions and the return of the ferals in the standing room (I'm one of them) alleviate this problem.

Yeah, that's not ideal at all and I can understand why you'd feel that way as I'd be the same. I personally haven't really noticed that where I sit, but I'm sure for many people it's a bit of a social outing.

I was more getting at that despite the survery and the club seeking our input / feedback, it's quite apparent based on the questions within the survey, they appear to have already committed to a decision and made up their minds.

It's their right to make these decisions of course, but to seek feedback / input to tick a box and make members feel like they've been heard, but not listen to it isn't great IMO. I could be wrong, but I thought it was obvious this was nothing more than a box ticking exercise.

Anyone know when memberships for 2024 go on sale?

Thinking I might just ask/get mum to get me a 3-game membership for Xmas this year.
You can chat to them now

I know the following may well interest a few, especially those of us located in The Players Stand Bays A18-A21

So recently the club sent out an email survey to those in the Players Stand to gathering info about seating preferences for next season, with regards to staying put or moving

Those in Bays A18-A21 have since been given the option of staying put in 2024 or moving to the Northern Stand (with a price increase if moving). But sound like I wasn't alone in being uncertain if we stayed in 2024 we would then have to move from 2025

Sooo I got to tonight's AFLW match a bit early and spoke to the membership team about it to seek clarity on what happens beyond next year - as per advice just received and what they've been told, if you choose to stay in 2024 you can continue to stay for 2025 & beyond

And he said they've received a bit of feedback about that survey and confusion it created

Same here. Decent price increase for home family membership.

Some increases are expected, but where I am annoyed over the years is how poor a service sometimes occurs in the upper section of the Players stand. i.e. the third-party that runs the drinks and food services sometimes choose not to open them for "quieter" home games.

I understand lower stand seat holders have been offered a move to the new northern stand, but of course at an increase. I wonder if anyone here is willing to share what the difference is?

I'm finding the current info on packages is crap, in the past they would provide PDFs or many pages of the various stand/seat pricing etc. Or am I blind? lol
It seems to all be content for 2023: GAME ACCESS

Last year (2023)
Home | Adult $515 (included a seat)
Home & Away | Kinder Cat Junior $222 (included a seat)
Home & Away | Kinder Cat Junior $75
Total Price: $812

"Kinder Cat" memberships have now been abolished.

This year (2024)
Home | Adult $540 (seat portion is $280)
Home & Away | Kinder Cat Junior $258 (seat portion for junior is $153)
Home & Away | Kinder Cat Junior $105
Total Price: $903

Thanks for posting those details, good to know the increase is minor. Tempted to look into a relocation only because we've wanted 5 seats for a couple seasons and have not ben able to get them for some time unless we moved way back up the top.

Has there been any confirmation as to whether the Geelong cheer squad will return to the northern end?

Has there even been any gaurantee the stand will be ready? Youd be pretty pissed off to pay more to move seats to something you aren't even certain to be able to use for the whole season.
