That was a pretty solid effort by us. Morphett would have to be the most improved player in the competition. She was amazing again, at times was a one person on ball brigade.

Last year the score was Cats 102 vs Swans 27 - a 75point loss.

Today was a 27 point loss and we had our chances. Onwards & upwards.

Interesting that he named McEvoy as a forward but I doubt she'll play there. Mitchell and Lexi are probably more physical, which will be valuable against Geelong. That's my guess anyway. No doubt Bella will know why.

Gowan did explain after the game that the reason they omitted Bella was a structural reason: they wanted to play one less tall defender and one more tall forward. Evidently Lexi is the better at playing forward. But you're absolutely right that he must have liked Alice Mitchell's game with her holding her spot.

Overall I thought we showed spirit and the result was respectable, especially compared to last year but even if you compare to the Bulldogs who played Geelong last week. Looking forward to seeing the coaches votes.

Looking forward to her and Ham playing together. Plus I think we are yet to see the best of CHamilton and Hurley so plenty if upside left. I reckon we will surprise a few teams this year.
