Interesting that he named McEvoy as a forward but I doubt she'll play there. Mitchell and Lexi are probably more physical, which will be valuable against Geelong. That's my guess anyway. No doubt Bella will know why.

Gowan did explain after the game that the reason they omitted Bella was a structural reason: they wanted to play one less tall defender and one more tall forward. Evidently Lexi is the better at playing forward. But you're absolutely right that he must have liked Alice Mitchell's game with her holding her spot.

Overall I thought we showed spirit and the result was respectable, especially compared to last year but even if you compare to the Bulldogs who played Geelong last week. Looking forward to seeing the coaches votes.
