I mean, unless that scenario involves Pick 1 and 2 magically appearing from nowhere and coming to us, it's a hideous trade lol

Mate you are trying so hard to throw me under the bus you have to chain together posts from completely seperate threads to try form an incomplete narrative. Not a bias mod at all.

As I said, both Port and Carlton have plenty of capital in players/picks to get it done if they really wanted to.

Unless you think Trac/Pickett are worth more than all there picks + McKay/Curnow/Cripps/Walsh/Rozee/Butters/JHF ect it’s always possible as the capital is there in one way or another.

But yeah if you rather we just tow the party line just say so.

Port have picks to, and they both have players they can also trade out for more capital.

As I said I didn’t lay anything out, just spit balling, it’s what forums are all about.

This isn’t DL, no need to be so precious.
Not being precious just trying to understand the logic, why would Port give up Houston + picks for Kozzy? And they dont even have a first this year even if they wanted to.

Well that was where the conversation was going until it got shut down so guess we will never thrash it out now as it doesn’t tow the party line.

I mean, it's a direct quote mate. Was meant to be a bit of fun.

Is there a complete narrative with you though? In that thread, you've criticised basically every trade idea (fair enough on a few of them), but have also said there's no way we trade him as he's our best player, but then you've also complained on here about us not changing the midfield for next year, but then you've said he's worth McKay and two firsts, but then you've traded him and our other most valuable asset (Pickett) for Cerra and 'picks', but then you've also said we should trade Petracca for 'the 18-year-old version of him' (Lalor), but then you've also said he's worth 7 and 12 for Mac Andrew.

By all means, coming up with trade ideas is part of threads like these. But I get whiplash trying to keep up with how often your mind changes – one day, you'll be slagging someone off for a terrible trade idea, the next day, you'll be suggesting something even worse.

Basically, no matter what happens, you'll criticise the outcome and either gloat if you're correct, or double-down for a while, before shifting the goalposts and/or dropping the subject altogether (see Windsor this year).

I would do all of those 2+ McKay, the Mac Andrew one and take Lalor. Need to toss out a few variations/permutations as I’m sure that what list managers do to find the sweet spot.

To be fair I got banned from Windsor thread which forced me to drop it. If you unban me I will continue.

Still think we should have gone a tall.

You have to understand that when it comes to trades the conversations behind closed doors are very different than the conversations you have with other clubs. Even for supporters.

The article seems classic clickbait to me as its I hardly anything groundbreaking. This journalist has simply joined the dots from other stories and called Port to ask if they were interested in Kozzie and they would have said sure.

That was temporary (a week IIRC). You've been able to post in that thread for months, haha.

From John Ralph today:

Melbourne has been assured by Kysaiah Pickett’s management that he is content at the Demons despite continual approaches from clubs across the country.

Pickett signed a new deal last April until 2027 and while he has spent time in Adelaide and West Australia growing up he does not consider either of them his home town.

Clubs including Port Adelaide have recently again upped the ante as they attempt to bring him back to the state where he lived with his uncle, Power legend Byron Pickett, for a time as he approached draft age.

But his manager Peter Rohde confirmed on Tuesday he had spoken with Melbourne football boss Alan Richardson as recently as Tuesday morning to assure him there was nothing to the speculation.

Pickett loves the city of Darwin and its tropical weather as an escape from the bitter cold of Melbourne’s winters.

But unless the AFL fast-tracks a 20th team into the Northern Territory before he retires, he will remain with Melbourne for the foreseeable future.

All Melbourne players have been disappointed with their response to a pair of straight-sets finals departures, flat they could not put together a deep finals run.

But as the Demons prepare to take on Collingwood in their round 24 clash on Friday night, his focus is on fulfilling his contract.

Ironically Pickett has just been spruiking the city in a fashion shoot for the City of Melbourne for splashed across his Instagram pages.

He and partner Ardu welcomed their first child in April this year, with Pickett enjoying a solid but not brilliant season with 34 goals after 40, 41 and 37 majors in his past three seasons for the Demons.
