Feel for him as he was only marginally late but Carroll's head was over the ball. Crouch turns side on and collects him pretty hard.

They will argue he was just contesting the ball but duty of care is to the guy with his head over the ball. Could easily have knocked Carroll out.

I guess the thing you could say with Butters is both players arrived at the same time. It was incidental that his hip made contact with the other player.

Crouch on the other hand was 2nd to the ball so had a duty of care to Carroll who already had his head over the ball
