I hope we try and keep Philp in our VFL side.
All three are top athletes so I hope we replace them with similar types.

philp gotta feel frustrated by that.........
SOS took O’Brien in front of DaRcy Fogarty - surely he wants to prove himself right with that one ?SOS to sign Philp as a DFA
You'd think he'll be determined to prove himself rightSOS to sign Philp as a DFA

Not a bad thing imoWow those are seriously ruthless moves.
i think people need to get over SOS. He did plenty for us. Charlie, Harry, Martin are examples….SOS took O’Brien in front of DaRcy Fogarty - surely he wants to prove himself right with that one ?
this has been picked over a million times alreadyBesides Charlie, Harry, TDK (massive foundational picks) and arguably Cuningham, SOS record at draft table a bit questionable? Weiters and Walsh were stand out number1s that anyone would pick.
Approach to list build really sound, but feel Austin has done an excellent job since he's come in.
Sorry if this has been picked over a million times already..

Didn't LOB have another year?
Personally would be keeping Young. Key position depth is invaluable and he showed heaps of potential in 2022.No real surprises yet and Mirkov would be on the cusp
2 of Young, Dow, Fisher will likely find a new home
That would probably be the end of departures
Can we carry 2x payouts?Mirkov would be on the cusp
Not really, with Marchy, Cuners and Fog getting a good run at it and “proven” in the top side, they were the only ones left. It becomes a numbers game. As I have said a couple of times, it will be even harder next year.Wow those are seriously ruthless moves.
2023 list:
Senior 36, Rookie 6, Cat-B 1 Vacant: 1 x Cat-B
Add 2 x SSP Rookies (Cincotta, O'Keeffe)
Senior 36, Rookie 8, Cat-B 1 Vacant: 1 x Cat-B Oversupply: 2 x Rookies
Remove 2 Retirements (Plowman, Ed C)
Senior 35, Rookie 7, Cat-B 1 Vacant: 1 x Cat-B, 1 x Senior Oversupply: 1 x Rookie
Add 2 x Irish International Rookies (Duffy, Monahan)
Senior 35, Rookie 8, Cat-B 2 Vacant: 1 x Senior Oversupply: 2 x Rookies
Remove 3 Delistings (LOB, Honey, Philp)
Senior 33, Rookie 7, Cat-B 2 Vacant: 3 x Senior Oversupply: 1 x Rookies <=== where we are now.
If... we trade Dow, Fisher
Senior 31, Rookie 7, Cat-B 2 Vacant: 5 x Senior Oversupply: 1 x Rookies
Would leave us with 4 spots vacant overall, but with a requirement to upgrade one rookie. This might allow us (for example) to recruit Elijah Hollands; take a draft pick at pick 16; a second draft pick; and a third draft pick or upgrade another current rookie and pick a new rookie.
If we want more than 4 new players, we'd need to cut/trade deeper.
The fact that Sam “Nigel” Durdin was not among these delistings suggests Young is definitely “gettable” via trade. If he is not traded, big Nigel could well be in the gun.No real surprises yet and Mirkov would be on the cusp

13 of the 22 in the prelim team were drafted by SoS, 2 pre dated him and 7 were from Austin. SoS last draft was 4 years ago. SoS did ok.Besides Charlie, Harry, TDK (massive foundational picks) and arguably Cuningham, SOS record at draft table a bit questionable? I doubt we’ll use anything past pick 65, if even that in this draft. No depth. Let’s hope we know what we are doing. If Dow and Fisher go plus Ed that opens up 6 list spots. Will be interesting to see what we do with them.
Say we get Hollands for F2 plus another depth player for nothing.
That leaves us with picks 16, 65, 73 and 91. Surely we aren't going to to use 3 picks that late in the draft (if any). Do we have our eye on some vfl players? Or are we seriously contemplating splitting that first pick?
Part of the reason I am surprised by the LOB delisting. Didn't think we were in a position where we would be forced to pay someone out this year.
