All three are top athletes so I hope we replace them with similar types.

Yeah must be disappointing for him, that he never got to show us if he was truely good enough.

Plenty of luck involved in it all. He was talented and he seemingly worked hard. I hope he gets fit and finds his way back into the league.

Dow and Fisher traded takes us to six outgoings.

I think Mirkov will be lucky to hold onto a list spot. Durdin will be replaced if we can find someone better, I’d prefer to keep him.

Marchbank and Cuningham still not signed but should be retained.

There’s enough flexibility to improve on what we have.

i think people need to get over SOS. He did plenty for us. Charlie, Harry, Martin are examples….

Besides Charlie, Harry, TDK (massive foundational picks) and arguably Cuningham, SOS record at draft table a bit questionable? Weiters and Walsh were stand out number1s that anyone would pick.
Approach to list build really sound, but feel Austin has done an excellent job since he's come in.

Personally would be keeping Young. Key position depth is invaluable and he showed heaps of potential in 2022.

Surprised by LOB. Given he is contracted and we don't have many decent picks I thought we would have valued the cash over the list spot we free up by delisting him.

Also, thought Mirkov would be first on the chopping block if we went that way. Wouldn't be a large payout. Accepting close to minimum wage would have been why we gave him 2 years in the first place.

Comfortable with the other 2 delistings. Philp was always long odds to make it. One of the most fumbley players I have ever seen. Though I hope he gets his body right and gets a crack at vfl at least.

I doubt any of these get re-rookied.

Not really, with Marchy, Cuners and Fog getting a good run at it and “proven” in the top side, they were the only ones left. It becomes a numbers game. As I have said a couple of times, it will be even harder next year.

Would leave us with 4 spots vacant overall, but with a requirement to upgrade one rookie. This might allow us (for example) to recruit Elijah Hollands; take a draft pick at pick 16; a second draft pick; and a third draft pick or upgrade another current rookie and pick a new rookie.

If we want more than 4 new players, we'd need to cut/trade deeper.

The fact that Sam “Nigel” Durdin was not among these delistings suggests Young is definitely “gettable” via trade. If he is not traded, big Nigel could well be in the gun.

13 of the 22 in the prelim team were drafted by SoS, 2 pre dated him and 7 were from Austin. SoS last draft was 4 years ago. SoS did ok.

That leaves us with picks 16, 65, 73 and 91. Surely we aren't going to to use 3 picks that late in the draft (if any). Do we have our eye on some vfl players? Or are we seriously contemplating splitting that first pick?
