So Butters wasn't the big name you were alluding to that would come out seeking a trade after the GF?Can't see Butters leaving, this year

Which is why we must hold onto our F1 and perhaps try upgrade our F2 for another F1 next year, by perhaps using our current Rd 2 pick and whatever we get from Kennedy & Owies.Butters is more likely to depart Port next year, end of Hinkley era and pre RFA

I'd keep the powder dry on Houston, and go for a budget speedy mid this year. 2 F1's lines up for Butters next year which could help in pursuading his management that we could get a deal done.

I have a few cat supporter mates, they seem to be of the consensus that Parfitt was very lucky to last on their list as long asWhen people say we will be worse by far, in what area? Goals per game? Kennedy averages 0.2 more goals per game, tackles? Kennedy averages about 2 less per game, possessions per game? Both average 17.
I dont mind Kennedy but to put him up there as being miles better than Parfit is a stretch.
If Kennedy were to leave, we would get a pick 25-35 imo, you can then add Parfit for free,
The draft pretty hard hopefullyApart from Haynes and a strong chance with Houston, I'm really interested in who else we target
No way. It's gotta be draperIF we get pick 6 then I would be using that on Kako.
Yeah I really can't see us being in the mix for Butters sadly. Would be way too expensive picks and cap wise.If we were gonna get Butters we'd have to do it this year. Cody in 2026 will eat up our picks so trading future picks would be fairly limited.
Doubt we'd be in the mix for him anyway but would be interesting if he did request a trade home what sort of chaos would unfold
You can't turn players who are soft into someone who's hard at the contest.Surely we persevere with Young and get his self belief worked on?
It appears a confidence thing?
Certainly has shown he can play well at the highest level...
Not much other then a lot cheaper on a rookie contract and coverif the goal is to get better. What does Kennedy out Parfitt in do for us....
I'm certain we've been doing this for 3 years. The Dogs would've been working on it for the years he was there also.Surely we persevere with Young and get his self belief worked on?

I think MK will be a casualty of our very one dimensional midfield, having the likes of Cripps and Hewett also in there.
I just hope that the midfield shake up will bring the point of difference that we need to compete with others.
Geelong 'ITK' poster saying Butters set to request a trade to VIC.
What would it take and would we go all in on it?

Liked him in his draft year, good overhead and has leg speed.Worth a look?

U can just see it now(if it ends up being true), butters wants to get home to Geelong

lolI dont understand the logic.suspect his time on the list is tied to Lewis Young. Despite being encouraged to “shop himself” reports suggest LY struggling for suitors. If Young stays, likely Durdin goes.
They have similar output across a season. Both are only playing when others miss. We are reportedly getting Haynes as a tall defensive option. Despite group think on here, I suspect Voss plays Kemp mainly in defence next year pending development of a draftee, unless Haynes can turn back the clock.
Surely we must draft a young KPD this year. There are some great prospects likely at “bargain prices” due to draft depth.
It would probably be preferable to keep Sam Durdin and move Young on to create a main list spot in the overall scheme of things
But we’re not alone on that one.Charlie McCartin could be in our sights according to media reports and recommended by Ed Curnow.
