Fair few comments from players about being gassed and that surface is a shocker, maybe after the trip to Perth etc we will see Campbell back for some pace? If someone's stuffed or even just as the sub for another mid. He looked good yesterday
Bit worried about the fact almost, if not all teams have lost the following week after they've played Freo. I'm just glad we ran out the game without any knee or ankle issues.

Game sold out
Holding GA or Red Zone? Get there a little early.

Elim final last year:
Curnow 1.0, 15 touches
Mackay 0.2, 11 touches
Walsh 28 touches, 6 clearances
Cripps 21 touches (Heeney)

Play the same game as that we win, we are better this year
Another sell out!! Club will be thrilled. That's 3 home games and with the Cats in 2 weeks time we're guaranteed another one for sure.

We're going to smash our average home crowd this year.

Have you noticed how the Buddy talk has disappeared completely.

Unless Logan is having a set shot, maybe why he passed it quickly to Hayward, to spare us.

Minor miracle. We should sound other clubs out about refusing to play there until the ground is fixed.

That's happened the grand total of twice this season - after playing Freo in rd 3 Adelaide lost to Melbourne and after playing them in rd 7, the dishlickers lost to Hawthorn in rd 8. I wouldn't think either of those results would be overly surprising, Crows were very average at the start of the season and the dishlickers are as up and down as a fiddlers elbow.

It’s a funny thing that our club is a game clear on top of the ladder and so much of what we’re talking about is how to fit marginal players (Campbell, Parker) into our best 23. The reality at this point I think is that those guys are not gonna significantly influence our flag chase.

Depth is important of course but it’s mainly going to be about how we go keeping the best 10-12 on our list in Errol, Blakey, Chad, Heeney, McCartin, Rampe, Florent, Hayward, Papley, McInerney, Lloyd, Rowbottom, and Grundy up right and fit the rest of the year
Yes depth leads to strong competition for spots which is obviously a necessity to keep performing well. Some players who were down on form 3 or 4 games ago, have pulled their fingers out with strong recent performances knowing they might otherwise have got dropped.
As you say the top 10-12 players are vital but I think the best (premiership winning) teams are the ones with a strong and even bottom 6-8 players… our bottom players are mostly role players but boy do they perform their roles well! 😍
Our current best 23 (with Tmac in for Francis) are awesome yet we still have Mills, Campbell, Parker and Sheldrick (and a few other solid/good players) out of the team. For this stage of the year, we are travelling well … coaches now need to ensure we don’t peak too early and build nicely into the finals. 🙏

Think alot of people overhyping Sam Wicks because of his work last year. Yes he did have a couple of sub games but his pressure acts is still down from 18.4 last year to 10.7 (12.4 with sub games removed) still below that of Hayward and Papley this year. If we don't "rest" a player then Parker must come in for Wicks who is going at about 80% effectiveness of what he was doing last year. Also could see Roberts get a rest as he has had his role taken in the last couple of weeks and also hasn't been using it the best recently.

What role was taken lol

I think it has to do with Rampe being back. Seems looking at the heat maps he is more up on the wing. Maybe this is also due to Campbell being dropped as well and them needing a spare winger whilst Jordon does some forward tagging. Maps go from most recent rounds backwards (left to right rd9, 8, 7 & 6)

Because much like the dogs, their bottom 6 are worse than other teams bottom 6 (at least previously, haven't watched much of them this year).
Yep, we've consistently had half a dozen or so best 22 players missing most weeks this season, so our bottom 6 has been pretty sketchy.

Really rate the Swans. If we get up, this'll easily be our best performance of the season.

Awesome preview. Love the history lesson. Did the Bloodstained angels tag come as a result of that 1945 GF?
No, the team were actually known as the Bloodstained Angels well before that due to the red sash across the white jumper;

(The red V was adopted in 1932).

By the time of the 1945 GF the team was referred to by the Swans nickname (after the influx of West Australians in the early 1930s).

Don't like talking ump but reckon Carlton might get a stiff run this week, 2 weeks in a row they have had players accentuate contact to be given very bad free kicks. Can't imagine the umps like being made to look like fools.

But yes come finals if we come up against a "fairytale" narrative again it is a real concern
If you hear the word Brave mentioned anywhere near the finals you know we are Parkered.
