Wait people actually think Underwood is a good commentator.

Her knowledge of the players and teams might be great, but she cant remember/think on the spot.
Add that to the fact that her voice is very offputting, and you've got a horror combination.

Its not that shes a woman, and shes not the only garbage commentator that still gets a gig.

Absolutely. Whether there is a bias requiring a higher standard for women is another question, but in general people don't overtly dislike a commentator due to their gender (except for some meat head misogynists).

Unfortunately, MANY of the criticisms ARE founded in sexism or misogyny. Some of them are fair and warranted.

Meh - doesn't really matter to be honest.

I did see someone try to suggest that it wouldn't work because they couldn't name a country that has been successfully run with two leaders . Probably one of the worst posts going around - especially considering the 2024 premiership winners had 2 captains. Also ignoring the fact that Sydney made a grand final in 2022 with 3 captains and won a flag in 2005 with 3 captains.

I mean she could have used the more conventional "Most Valuable Player" but yeah, it went away pretty quick so I don't think anyone was too bothered.

Yeah - thats what I found weird. It was just a weird usage of it. Don't think it was sinister or anything like that and it all moved on pretty quickly which is good.
