Sure I agree with that, the club should not prepare as if it will just win games. I'm not sure they really do either, we haven't dropped that many games against bottom 4 sides in recent years, it's the mid-table clubs who we tend to stumble against (Richmond game being the exception).They're different conversations.
The club cannot prepare as if it will just win games, because we tend not to. Largely because we're bad.
The achievement of winning against bottom teams should still be weighted accordingly. We win only those games because we're bad.
But if we are evaluating games as outside observers or looking at a fixture we can obviously identify that West Coast at home is a pretty easy game we should expect to win, while Hawthorn in Tasmania might be a tough one. If we played West Coast 20 times I'd expect us to finish top 4 easily, for example.
