Add to the theatre of holding him out with no contract. He should be sweating bulletsWow. That’s heavy reading. Hopefully Coops takes his chance like young Archer has done.
Exactly. It is also surprising that people have the approach ‘this draft is deep, so top picks more valuable this year’. If the draft isn’t as deep next year, and there is strong top end talent, why wouldn’t you want to get a high pick next year in a compromised draft?
What if another club snaps them up first? We still have to delist one more to have the minimum 3 picks. Either Cooper or a contracted player. CCJ?
Whoever we delist can be redrafted or rookie drafted if we want.
Unfortunately there are several teams looking to use future picks to trade into this draft and nobody wanting to trade out. We won't get value for our F1, best to keep it for next year.Lot of undervaluing of our F1 on here imo.
We've held a top 10 pick for 8 years in a row. Top 2 pick 5 years in a row.
We can should value it at a top 5 pick valuation, top 8 at worst.
Obviously combos of picks may equate to this, ie 10 + 11 etc.

The hair definitely held him back at the roos. It just wasnt north melbourne hair.Has the hair for Sydney, Freo or WC.
Would not be surprised if he was picked up out of the trash can and turned into a defensive mid under a better system.
Now that's an interesting question The Big O! Firstly, yes they need a key forward, but as I've explained before they need midfielders, gun midfielders. Melbourne , St Kilda and Richmond all have the chance to get the gun midfielders they require, now Richmond will get ONE with pick #1, after Richmond's first pick of the draft, they along with Melbourne and St Kilda all have choices to make, as to whether they trade for our pick #2 or not. Carlton have defied the "no one will trade up in this even draft, when you can get a similar talent around those early picks", really? I think someone will do it, but its a choice for those clubs to ponder.
"Will Armstrong still be there at 10 or 11 if we split 2"? That's an even better question "O", they could be, I've gone over this countless times in my head as to what players each club might select and my scenario is a lot different to other suggestions and yes someone always springs a surprise so its extremely difficult, everyone seems to be keeping very quiet on who their really keen on and that's factoring in a few pick swaps even though opposition supporters think that is very wishful thinking that this happens.
My guess is that the Saints at pick #8 IF they keep their picks might grab him with that second pick, but in my opinion like the Demons they try and grab two gun midfielders which they need, but that just opens up a Pandora's box of questions and statements because I don't think the Saints will get a gun mid at either pick {pick 7 and 8}, they will be gone and other players are being brought up, but they are not the gun mid/mids that they need.
So if the Saints don't grab him I think he'll be there, but who is number #1 on Will Thursfield's whiteboard, I'm about 99% sure its either Alix Tauru or Harry Armstrong and between now and the next four weeks the same questions and answers will be put to people, I've seen other players in mock drafts picked by us and the person/ people doing it try to be different, and then who we have picked up later and it makes no sense, but I guess its all a bit of fun and with a month still to go, people are getting restless so anything related to the draft will get looked at and their are some good mock drafts out there where the person has actually researched most clubs needs as well as common sense picks.
Gee, that'd be a shame. What if another club snaps them up first?
You mean crew-cut under coercion style? The hair definitely held him back at the roos. It just wasnt north melbourne hair.
Great stuff mate - while you’re at it change your username to Bin scabGlad it is to you. If Gerryn or Hannerford are there at what would be #25- I'll downgrade my membership to 3 games (or Pet) in protest.
Very good for us, but Richmond aren't looking to trade good picks out of this draft. For this draft I would happily do 2 and f1 for 6, 10 and 11.
Potentially secure Armstrong, Smile and Trainor
we'll see what happens I guessVery good for us, but Richmond aren't looking to trade good picks out of this draft.
If we want extra picks, Essendon have enough points to match a bid on Kako without picks 28 and 31. Offering our F2 for one of those could be an option.
Overs IMO. Way over. Leave aside improvement as we've shown very little in 5+ years. On paper you're trading 2 & F #2 for 6, 10 & 11. I wouldn't trade 2 & 3 this year for those three picks so why any different for a future pick? For this draft I would happily do 2 and f1 for 6, 10 and 11.

Not saying the tigs are right but their f1 is pretty much guaranteed pick 1 next yr, where we could end up (if we're lucky) ~14-12th placeSo according to the Richmond nuffies they firmly believe the following
Our pick 2 is not worth 6 an 10/ 11 because the draft is so even yet their pick 10 is worth picks 15 & 16.
Also, somehow their F1 is worth either Melbourne's 5 & 9 or St. Fiddlers 6 & 7 but our F1 is not worth 13.
But i guess, what else would you expect at this time of the year?

I think the plan would still be to split, and have two early picks and pass on 62. Then rookie River Stevens. With Cooper taking an actual list spot, and not a rookie spot, it makes it a little more complicated to split pick 2.
If my math is correct about our available list spots, for us to split 2 we would have to get rid of someone on the current list somehow to accommodate the extra draft picks, OR the deal would have to involve us ending up with -1 net draft selections total this year.
