I take from Pendles that he will go to another club to learn the trade but has not ruled out a head job at Pieland. The mistake that Shaw and Bucks made was not going elsewhere, not that there is any evidence that they could have really become great coaches anyway.

Bucks had 2 years away from the club after retiring in 07. Spent time in the media and coaching the academy team. He then had a 2 year apprenticeship under MM. Just saying...

There seems to be some sort of bias in the Eyre vs Sof analysis. Very dismissive of the Sof.

Thanks Jen.

Does Fin look noticeably bigger to you? He doesn’t look it in that video but definitely good signs in him shrugging tackles.

Intrigued as well by match sim having Eyre with Moore and Murphy in defence. Not necessarily meaning Eyre is earmarked but interesting that they are looking at another tall with Moore and Murphy.

He looks slimmer but stronger. He’s able to cover a lot more ground.

It’s only what we see tbh, or not see. Only can judge session upon session. And unfortunately yesterday he was pretty invisible. Where last week he was more involved.

Who would you pick out of the three mid SSPs? Teakle any chance?

He gives versatility so I can understand where the like of him is from. Has been playing forward so maybe they are interested more depth. Even if it’s just big marking targets. Def a chance. Depending how many spots they are looking to fill in this period.

As for the mids. They really like Sullivan. And I can def see why.

He would have been better off going away and being an assistant to someone like, say, Paul Roos.

Given our lack of quality KPPs could be seen as cover for Cox/Cameron, with Frampton - Moore and Dean - Murphy.

Eyre a future starting 18 KPD.

Sullivan seems to have had a couple of very impressive seasons at Footscray as Captain. It would be great for him to get an opportunity. If the Doggies didn’t have such a stacked midfield, he would probably have earned a senior list position there. If he gets the nod, it will make it that little bit more difficult for Carmichael to get a look in.

Thing Carmichael has more is his ability to play forward. While Sullivan can kick goals from stoppage not sure he has the forward craft that Carmy has. Sullivan more of a contested mid

Gooey about to hit his prime, Nick a few years from his but already elite. Hell of a midfield core already.
"Daicos to De Goey, GOAL!

De Goey to Daicos, GOAL!"

Rinse aaaaand repeat...

Maybe yes, maybe no. Leigh Matthews seemed to go okay without a lengthy apprenticeship under an established coach.
At a different club. Not sure if that makes a difference or not. Also, Lethal didnt take over a side that had played in the last 2 Grand Finals, he had to build it

Is it bias? Or just what people who are at training are seeing?
I suppose when you read Eyre ‘smashed by Frampton for strength in one on one’s ‘ but it is ok he will get stronger , you hope there is not an agenda to promote Eyre at all costs.

Probably isn’t but it crosses your mind

Given we were a bottom 6 contested side last season, we probably need the contested player more.

One is 21 and one is a bigger man in frampton and 6 years older. What did you want me to say -- that Eyre wont get stronger, or that Frampton shouldn't have won? I'm just stating what happened.
