Why does it feel like one person has multiple accounts?

I mean it seems to be a trend. One person spams the thread for days with s**ty X/Twitter takes, "trolls lefties", posts general misinformation. Then they vanish (not banned in most cases), and someone takes over, then they too go quiet. And another long time bigfooty user/with a name that I have never seen post on this thread before. Pops up and continues it. Very much every US politics thread. It's an odd pattern.

Kamala gave nothing away during her campaign, she at least had the sense not to get into the subject, although there were plenty of clips that revealed that “my values have not changed”. Her agenda has always been far left, but like most campaigning politicians she pretended to be centrist to try to appeal to the maximum number of voters.
