I mean the AFL is copping blowback about the NGAs and they'd need to not only accept him in Ports NGA but also decide to let SA and then in turn WA clubs match metro nga kids you'd think it's unlikely, although Port seem confident.

The perfect finals player in our dynasty complimenting Cotchin was Prestia.

Every year of our flags he was injured for long stints during the season but the club got him cherry ripe for finals and it paid in dividends.

He’s someone who can be portrayed as ‘limited kicking efficiency, slow, injury prone’ yet when the whips got cracking he was instrumental is our Big Crunch final games.

The same people who are saying Sharp is one dimensional or not as athletic to the modern game are the same people who said this about Langford and Murphy Reid and look at how their debut seasons have been panning out.

Sharp had very credible stats as an underager mid against the likes of Langford, Smillie, Smith and co so it’s not like he can’t excel at AFL level.

Reid and Langford aren't fast but they're also not even close to one dimensional. Langford has a great tank, is a great mark for his size, a good kick and can go forward and kick goals. Reid is similar although with more class but without the marking ability of Langford. They're both more well round than Sharp.

Yeah Cotchin and Prestia were perfect a few years ago. Taranto and Hopper would have been too. As Oliver and Viney were. Tom Mitchell was good in 2023 also.

I reckon there's still room for one inside only mid, but you have to have the runners to compliment on the outside. Smillie can be that inside beast for us, but he is atheltic and a good user too.

We will have even more kids we need to get games into next year so we could theoretically get worse. It will be close.

Reckon the 2nd kid in open pool on his list is a better fit and a damn good player from what I've heard and seen in noobers vid.

yeah its feasible, guess I am hopeful that Vlas wont drop off, Broad is playing a role so not as hard to replace and Nank 100% needs to stay fit.

Good player with a great leap and high draft pick but never delivered to the potential

There were question marks around if Langford could handle the pace & intensity of AFL footy & Reid was around his speed & frame which I'm glad both of them have answered those convincingly.
Agreed they both arn't one dimensional but Sharp has been playing more up forward this year and has chimed in with a goal or two a game as well as taken a leading mark or two up forward showing that he can fill a second position if need be.

In terms of the bold, I'm of the personal opinion that Smillie will play more as the first reciever from someone like Sharp over the course of his career but at the same time we've only had tiny snippets of him at VFL level and probably won't see this play out properly until 2026.

This isn't a one club champion, however Nick blakey had the choice of brisbane or north melbourne via fatherson or swans as an academy prospect
