Different players.

Robey wasn’t a mid who rests forward ala Petracca, or a third tall ala Gunston or a powerful mid sized forward like Rayner, Robey was legitimately the best KPF/CHF in CTL in back half of year (ignoring 2027 draftee and actual man mountain Jake Miller).

The 2 vids noob put up of his first 2 CTL games show his exceptional ability to get up the ground and provide his mids and backs a target.

when I first mentioned him to tigs2010 it wasn’t drafting Robey as a mid, but a dangerous forward in the Logan Morris mould (and hoping to get him as a rookie with Oskar 😮‍💨). And it’s kind of crazy how quickly he managed to connect with ranges backs and mids, he’s forward smarts are brilliant. The mid stuff in finals is just gravy.

Smil is far more pure mid who can rest forward and take advantage of mismatches and use his superior footy iq to out point defenders. He’s much more Sharp than Robey.

A three pronged attack of Faull, Armstrong and Robey would actually be an amazing thing to sit back and watch grow over the next few years.

Chuck in Hotton, Campbell, Rioli at the feet of those guys and Simms rotating through and Luke Bruest will be walking around punt road with a chubby in no time.

Lalor resting down there in a 3 rotation with Hotton and Robey would be absolute fire when they’re in their prime

Dont see the Robey love, X.Taylor is the gun in this draft !!

Tambling indirectly ended up being one of our most valuable picks. He lead the charge securing funding from Julia gillard for the punt road redevelopment and korin gamadji institue. This was instrumental in the clubs trajectory.
Plus stopped us getting Franklin and in turn set us on the path of Riewoldt, Cotchin, Martin & Rance. lol

Oskar Taylor recently blitzed the draft combine setting a blistering time to win the 20m sprint and finishing second overall in the agility test, building a really strong case to be taken in the first round of the draft. Unlike some prospects, you can see every bit of that pace and agility out there on the field as Oskar is one of the most untacklable players in the pool, capable of dancing around opponents and taking meters with dash and disposal. Here we see one of the early season examples of Oskar at his best, even in wet conditions.

Where do you think he’ll get drafted?

Personally think he deserves to be in the Grlj/xav/dovaston/marsh/Farrow group of 5 -15, he’s just electric.

I think him not playing up a level this year, so not being given a chance to really prove himself (champs or VFL) probably makes him riskier and therefore just a shade behind the guys you mentioned.

Putting on my Magic cap, all i saw in that clip was a guy so slow that he never took more than 3 steps, missed kicks, dropped marks, missed targets and a dribble kick goal that looked like he miskicked it. He took one nice mark on a wing and hit 1 target but then showed us he is also undisciplined giving away 50 metres. His favourite kick is the wobbler.

The guy looked like he was on another universe playing with the pretty stars, with pretty colours. Reckon there was a few unicorns and baby elephants running around with him as well. That's how far away he is from making it. I'm not here to pander to the masses, I want players that win premierships at Richmond.

LMAO

come at me
Sweet, I reckon you should definitely pass up Robey with your picks.

Ignore club bias please.

Taylor is a dud

Bloke has destroyed the demons legacy list, it all started when he brought in Grundy like a moron when they had Gawn

Ridiculous move, that started the disaster they are in now

Whatever he does, you can back it in that it will be a mistake

He is the most overrated list manager out there

Lol he’s not their list manager dude. He’s their head recruiter. He built the nucleus of their premiership list through the draft. Blaming him for Grundy is like blaming FJ for trading in Shaun Hampson.

He’s the furthest thing from a dud. I’ve been envious of their drafting for years.

Their broader list management on the other hand has not been ideal, agreed.

Yeah Tim Lamb is a shocker.

Oscar looks good but the majority of his possession is short sweeping kicks from half back. I’d have liked to see a bit more carry of the football, especially as his weapon is pace. Regardless he looks a good prospect.

Yeah but could we just draft him, trade him next year and then bring him back in our premiership window?

Not AFL related but former overall number 1 draft pick Victor Wembanyama has grown 5cm over the off season, so maybe THE_GUN is on to something when he keeps predicting growth spurts for some of our draftees :D
