Pity we don't have a late 1st round pick, Barker and Retschko patrolling the wings would see those needs filled. Maybe Leray slides to pick 34 (after bid adjustments)
I'm hoping we split 4 and get Barker with the last split pick.

It is Carlton who I believe will look to trade their two picks for a combination of points in this draft and a pick/S in next year’s draft.

Gold Coast and Brisbane will just be looking for points in this draft.
Good in theory but in this years draft cant see how they get that done unless Bombers / Melbourne decide to move down the draft order

it was posted on page 59. He said he is an Essendon supporter and please don't put yourself through listening to the Essendon nuffies before he joins
Didn't make it to the end. Bloke couldn't string a question together.

My current wish list is:

Cumming
Grlj
Sharp
CDT
Robey
Taylor

I'd be pleased with any combination of the top 3 tbh...

Duursma
CDT
Sharp
Cumming
Robey

They are my top 5 (in no order)
Grill anywhere from 6 to 10

We either take 2 of those top 5, or we take one, and auction off pick 4 to Melbourne (or Carlton/maybe even Essendon?).

Offer a pick swap, pick 4 for their earliest pick and flip our F2 for their F1. Reckon that might get it over the line.

gotta say, like him less after hearing this interview

Not sure if it was the fan boy interviewing him, but Robey needs Paul Connors as a manager, and needs him fast .
Yeah I agree with that, although most kids i guess would have a preference to play for the team they go for, that question the guy asked specifically about essendons list could have landed pretty badly.

What didn't you like about it?

I thought he sounded well coached. Media coached I mean.

Crazy to me that he agreed to be interviewed for over 30mins. I thought he did very well considering. Maybe a bit too serious but that's just splitting hairs really.

Maybe if it was a question without notice?

What I meant was, He sounds like he struggled to relax and was speaking from a script.

ACL might mean he could be a bargaiin get same as Hotton.
He’d be in the range of 8 to 15 without the ACL. Double those numbers just for risk now. Someone will pick up a talent, but highly unlikely to slip to our pick38. Not the strongest draft, but around that 15 to 25 mark, there’s some exciting talent.

I feel he will be either boom or bust and with the RFC drafting philosophy under Hartley, when we built our last dynasty, being to select players with a high floor (good kicks, good character, that they are confident are likely to play 200 games) rather than potential superstars ... he may just not end up as high on our draft board as other clubs.
For our last dynasty perhaps, but the consensus last year is that we swung for the fences with some high-risk high reward players, so it will be interesting to see if we continue with that same strategy this year. I certainly wouldn't mind taking a punt on Barker or Allen if either of them slip to our pick in the 30s having done ACLs this year. Barker may be a stretch to slip that far, but he seems to be around the mid-20s in a lot of rankings so it's not that much furhter to fall.

If Melbourne were keen to get ahead of Essendon to get Xavier Taylor, would they offer pick 7 or 8 + GC F1 for pick 4...

For pick 7 we should definitely take that offer.

Draft could play as follows (left off academy bids)

1 Duursma WCE
2 CDT WCE
3 Robey Rich
4 X Taylor Melb
5 Sharp Ess
6 Cummings Ess
7 Grlj Rich
8 Schubert Melb

look do not want to sit there and interrogate every word a just 18 yr old says on a podcast

Just reckon there was no need to do this, and I like him less afterwards just my opinion, the vibe was a bit off IMHO

Still want to draft him at 3 though,
