We just went hard on KPP.

Lalor and Hotton played more forward than mid in u/18s. Smillie is a pure mid but can also slot in at HBF.

McAuliffe (and Ross) was a speculative pick 40 who we hope comes good but the history of the draft suggests guys going that late are far more likely to be Will Martyn’s or Noah Cumberland’s than Chad Warners.

Our midfield rebuild is literally just starting and we have one genuine Top 10 pick midfielder. TT and Hopper are stop gaps and teachers while we fix that part of the ground.

Seeing FOS selection highlights hurts me. He is so smooth. FOS/Lalor would of combined so well.

It seems most of the top guys this year are from SA or WA?

Hope to see some genuine midfield class emerge in this draft year at the top end.

One of or both of TT and Hopper will be traded. I'd be put good money on at least one. Hopper should be the one for whatever can be obtained.

Taranto can play a forward role rotating with Lalor deep into his late 20's and early 30's. Taranto is also a better and more impactful forward than midfielder but that's a discussion for another day.

Once the years ease off and long term burden for other clubs plus Richmond likely agree to probably pay a portion of the contracts due to their minimum cap spend.

You listed out all the names plus the other young guys coming through + 2 top 5 picks likely on mids. After a couple more years, Taranto and Hopper are just going to be taking away CBA time from more talented and damaging players.
